The Berenstain Bears God Bless Our Country {A Book Review}

Oh my word, I love, love, love children's books. Now that I have the sweetest boy in the whole world to read to every day, I love them even more. A few months back, I read the sweetest Berenstain Bears book and I just couldn't wait to read another. The Berenstain Bears God Bless Our Country by Mike Berenstain is such a good book.

In Mason's world, the best part is the full page of stickers in the book. He is a huge fan of stickers right now. In my world, I loved the sweet story of Mama and Papa telling their little bears about America's birthday was so cool. It is the perfect book to read around the 4th of July. I love the nod to God establishing our country as it should be.

Such an incredible book. Check it out!

Cookie Love {A Cookbook Review}

You know I love a good cookbook, right?! Well, Cookie Love by Mindy Segal with Kate Leahy is no exception!

This cook book is INCREDIBLE!! First, the pictures are beautiful, high quality and super helpful in actually showing you what the cookie will look like in real like...always a plus!

Second, the recipes are awesome. They are detailed and well written and very easy to follow.
I have been very pleased with this cookbook and hope to make many of it's fun cookies in the future.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

Fear and Faith: Finding the peace your heart craves by Trillia J. Newbell

I was approached by SideDoor Communications who is partnering with Moody Publishing about reading and reviewing Fear and Faith: Finding the peace your heart craves by Trillia J. Newbell. I have been pleasantly by how much I enjoyed this book.

Throughout this book, Trillia shares several places in our lives, as women, where fear can present itself including fear of other women and fear of tragedy among other areas. I am not, in general, a fearful person and because of that, I can tend to be less than sympathetic to those who are fearful of certain things.

This book helped to open my eyes to ways to minister to and just converse with other women who may have fear about certain things in their lives. I think this book would be an awesome resource for anyone in Women's Ministry especially.

I look forward to reading more from Trillia Newbell in the future.

Thank you, SideDoor Communications for this opportunity!

A Quick Date {Knoxville}

Jeff and Mandy told us about this awesome pie place in Knoxville called Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop. After the kids went to bed Saturday night, they sent us on a date there! It was a nice little hour together.

Pecan pie with salted caramel ice cream and strawberry pie with vanilla bean ice cream

Love my best guy!

Knoxville Trip {April 2015}

Since we moved here, we have made trips to Knoxville every 3-4 months to visit our friends, The Moody's, but we had not seen them in 1 year! They were supposed to come for Mason's birthday but got snowed in. Then, they were coming two weekends recently and got sick! So, we were so glad to see them!
We planned the trip to visit Matt's brother and his girlfriend who live in Nashville. We met in Knoxville since it's half-way between us and Nashville.
It was nice to see lots of people in the same weekend. :)

We arrived late Friday evening and we were all up early Saturday morning. Mandy made yummy cinnamon rolls and then she and I headed to a church yard sale! While we shopped, Ollie taught Mason how to wrestle!

And how to play with cars.

Matt and Mason were at the Moody's for a bit by themselves while everyone went to a baseball game and they waited for me. Mason was pooped!

I picked up Mason some red Converse high tops for $3!

We met Ben and Anne at a local park and had a simple lunch of sandwiches and pasta salads. It was nice. Then, we played for a little bit.

Mason and I headed back to the Moody's house for Mason to play for a minute and then take a long nap! Matt, Ben, and Anne headed to a fun coffee shop and then to Market Square.

After nap, it was popsicle time!

Then, we played outside for a while. Matt, Ben, and Anne came back to the Moody's to visit before Ben and Anne hit the road.

Mandy made a yummy crockpot meal for dinner and we had a little play time before bedtime. The kids had such a fun time!

The Moody's sent Matt and I on a date to get pie. More coming on that later.

Sunday morning, we ate breakfast and the kids played a little more before we hit the road. Love these kiddos!

One last hug!

Mason was WORN out!

Grateful for a fun time with the Moody Family and Ben and Anne.
