Highlights of 2012

I know that a lot of bloggers are doing full posts for their "Year in Review" that has links to posts and pictures, etc. I think it's awesome but honestly, I don't have the patience for that and it isn't that important to me. Finds at Granny's

When we visited Louisiana, we stayed at my Granny's house. She has passed away but my mom and stepdad live there now. The house is over 75 years old and my grandmother never threw anything away so there are lots of treasures. Here a just a few of the fun things I found!

#HolidayVoxBox #Influenster

I just joined Influenster within the last couple of months. About 2 weeks ago, I got an e-mail survey for the Holiday Vox Box. I was chosen to receive and review this box and I was PUMPED for it to arrive. It showed up in my mail box on December 22nd...What a FUN early Christmas present. Here is what I received in the box. (Please forgive me for some of my pictures being oriented incorrectly. I didn't notice it until I had uploaded)

A Good QuikStyle Brush
I have used this brush everyday since I received it and I really like it! It doesn't take a huge amount of time off of drying each time but I notice at least a 30 second decrease in drying time. One downside is that it stays damp for a while so you can't really use it right after to just brush your hair because it adds moisture back to your hair but other than that I give it an A+.

Kiss Nail Dress
I am not one to paint my nails or put anything on them so I won't use these but they look super fun!

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine
I really like this too and have worn it daily since receiving it. I like it because it stays on a while. Husband doesn't like it because it's a bit sticky and sticks to his lips some when he kisses me. To solve that dilemma, I just wear it to work and wear my other lip color when we go to dinner etc. :)

I haven't used this yet so I can't vouch for it.

Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal
I am not a HUGE oatmeal fan but my husband really likes it so I let him try it. Here's what he said: "Pretty Good! Fresh tasting and not too sugary....Super convenient too with it being in its own cup...The fruit tastes really good too" Based on that, I get it an A+ too!

A Coupon for $25 off a purchase of shoes from SOLE SOCIETY
Haven't used this yet either but I really like some of the shoes on their website :)

Thanks, Influenster for allowing me to review these products. You rock!

P.S. This box was mailed to me with the contents you see listed above. All opinions are my own. :)

Giveaways & Spotlights?

Hey Party People!

I have been thinking a lot recently about this little blog of ours. I love the idea of sponsors but I don't want to ask for sponsors for the blog because that's not really my thing and honestly, I don't blog enough for that either. However, during the year 2013, I want to highlight/spotlight fellow bloggers and small business/shop owners. If you are one of those, will you comment below this post and let me know. After that, I'll contact you about further details for that. :)

Also, I want to host giveaways on the blog in 2013. These giveaways will likely be items that I purchase and give away so what would you like to enter to win? Let me know in a comment below.

Have a great weekend as we prepare to celebrate Christmas!

I linked up with Mackey Madness for this year's ornament exchange. I was paired with Allison @ Moments Like This and here is what she sent! :)
I pretty much love all of them. I put the "M" and the bulb ornaments on our dining room tree and the snowflake on our other tree. I love it! Thanks Allison!

Christmas Card 2012

I'm linking up with Faith today for the Christmas Card Carousel. Here is our card for this year. This is a picture of a picture because we didn't have a digital file of the card. We had such a fun time taking them together and making the cards. Merry Christmas!! :)

Pumpkin Patch 2012

Here are a few pictures from the Pumpkin Patch this year. We went with the Moody's.

Things Kids Say...

We just had a great trip to see our families and we have plenty of pictures. I will blog about it all once I get the pictures from Matt. He is usually quick with them but he has a family photo shoot that he is editing and that is top priority for pictures right now! Besides, I don't have much time to blog anyway!

I wanted to drop in quick to share a few funny things that the sweet kids in our families said while we were visiting. We have two nephews on Matt's side, Luke and Kieran, and a second cousin on my side who were are claiming as our nephew named Silas. Here are my favorites from them.

Silas (after I play hit him on the nose with his little car): "My car hit me on my nose. My nose is broken"
He is 2 by the way.

Luke and I conversing:
Me: "Luke, did you toot?"
Luke: "Yes, I did"
Me: "Whew, it stinks"
Luke: "Breathe out"

Kieran (playing with the Nativity)
"Mary and Joseph are snuggling"
(said in his little soft voice)

Ah, melt my heart. Can't wait to post stories of our own babies and the things they say!

What's something funny the kids in our life have said?
