The Book of Joan by Melissa Rivers {A Book Review}

I must admit I was a little leery of The Book Of Joan: Tales of Mirth, Mischief, and Manipulations by Melissa Rivers but I decided to check it out anyway. I must say, I was surprised that I really enjoyed this book.

The book is a little crude but that is to be expected because Joan Rivers was crude at times and her daughter is as well. All crudeness aside, this book really shared some of the funny stories about Joan Rivers' life.

The book was written from Melissa's perspective about her mother and she was open and honest in the book. Despite her sharing some of the hard times along with the funny times, her writing and sharing truly showed how much she loved and admired her mother.

The stories were witty and well-written and as I read, I could just picture Joan and Melissa Rivers in these situations. I laughed a lot and I cannot wait to pass this book along to my mom to read, too.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

Memorial Day {2015}

We had an extremely low key Memorial Day. Matt worked and Mason and I just hung out. We went to the mall when they opened to get some sunglasses at The Children's Place. Mason was obviously pleased with the choices we made. :)

Then, Mason got some play time at the mall. How these "toys" are so enjoyable, I'll never know!

I stopped and picked up our free Frosties from Wendy's and took them home really quickly and then we grabbed lunch at Zaxby's. Pictures with my sweet boy while we waited for lunch. :)

At home, we ate our Frosties. Mason had his first!!

They were sooooo good! I had not had one in forever and forgot how much I liked them.

We both napped and then we headed outside to the pool! My main little guy was stylin'!

Swim time outside obviously wore this sweet boy out!

After Dad got home, we had a picnic outside. Black beans, chicken legs, watermelon, and homemade chips! YUM YUM YUM!

It was a beautiful day!

Mother's Day 2015

As I mentioned yesterday, Mother's Day was SUPER low key. We will go out for dinner another day soon so that will be nice.

McDonald's was giving away free biscuits for Moms from 7-9 so we loaded up in the car to go. I got a steak, egg and cheese. It was so yummy!

Matt headed to work and Mason and I headed out for a little time out and lunch. Mason wasn't interested in pictures but I didn't let that stop me.

We walked at Target and Wal-Mart and I got a few things with the money my Mom sent me for Mother's Day. Then, Mason treated me to CiCi's.

We both took awesome naps and snuggled snuggled snuggled!

I am so glad that I get the chance to be a Mom. Love my sweet sweet family!
