A Blessing

Earlier this month, Matt's maternal grandmother celebrated her 70th birthday. She had a girls getaway for several of her friends and the girls in the family in Tennessee. Unfortunately, I was unable to go because Matt's wisdom teeth surgery was around the same time. I was sad because I LOVE Grandmom. Anyway, everyone said they had a great time and even though I was not there, the Morgans still benefited. Grandmom and Granddad wrote a blessing to everyone in the family and it is so precious to us. They typed it up and gave everyone a copy. We can't wait to frame it in our apartment. Here is what it says:

Father, we welcome and acknowledge each of our children,
our grandchildren and our great-grandchildren as delightful blessings from You.
As Aaron, the high priest, spoke Your blessing over the people of Israel, so I speak
Your blessing over our children today.

Dear Ones, we bless you in the name of Jesus.
We proclaim the blessings of God, our Redeemer, upon you.
May He give you wisdom, a profound reverence and fear of God,
and a heart of boldness and unselfish love.
May He create in you the desire to treasure His word and
a willing and obedient heart that you may walk in His light.
May you be not wise in your own eyes, but trust in Him
for your purpose and future.
May your tongue be as the pen of a ready writer, writing mercy
and kindness upon the tablets of your heart.
May your mind be clear, free from the cares of the world.
May you always speak the truth in love.
May the works of your hands be confirmed.
May your feet walk the paths which He has foreordained for you.
May you never forgot that His thoughts toward you are precious and
as vast as the sands upon the earth. If He is for you, who can be against you?
May your heart continually be filled with His peace that passes all undertstanding, the
joy of your salvation, and the abundance of His unfailing love.

Lord, our hearts are full of praise and gratitude for our precious family. Your
blessings leave us in awe. Thank You so much! We love You. Amen

Written this day, May 25th, 2011 for our children,
their children and their grandchildren,
and those yet to come to a thousand generations.

George and Virginia Brown

We are blessed.

Til next time-
Did You Hear about the Morgans?
