I read some awesome blogs (more on that some other time).

One of the ones I've started reading in the last 3 months is http://www.thesmallthingsblog.com/. The blogger is Kate

and she's pretty awesome. Yesterday she posted this post about bobby pins and I was floored. I couldn't believe it could possibly be true but I tried it and Y'ALL it is so much better! Go read her post. You will be inspired :)

Not ME! Monday

I thought I'd give this a try again this week :)

NEVER would I go to my computer to do something and completely forget what it was approximately 50% of the time. That would never happen to me on a Sunday afternoon. I remember everything well!

My husband and I didn't buy a Buick this week and we certainly haven't been cracking jokes all week about driving an "old person" car. Nope, not us.

I absolutely didn't wrap every single solitary gift I got for my husband including stocking stuffers just because I wanted him to have a lot of gifts under the tree. No, that is ridiculous.

This past Wednesday night, my husband and I definitely didn't dance in the living room for 20 minutes practicing our "dips" and then wake up the next morning sore. No, that's absurd.

And I surely didn't cry when I was looking at an album of some people I barely know depicting the events of when they got engaged. NO! that would have been a complete waste of time.

There are tons more but I'll save them for another time so I DO NOT embarrass myself too much. :)

Who Are you?? WHO? WHO??

(That's my CSI themed title in case you were wondering :))

Today, I was reading some blogs as I do on most typical days and I started thinking about how awesome the blogging community is. I mean, really, it gives you the opportunity to learn about and from some of the most amazing people alive. It allows you to connect with people just like you whether you are single, a newlywed, a new mom, middle-aged etc. It's just awesome.

Recently, I've expanded my blog reading because I've found some new blogs that are heavily followed and do several link-ups etc. Because of this, I have had more people reading my blog. I know some of these people are now following me via Blogger, others through Google Connect possibly and maybe there are others too.

So, I was wanting to ask you a favor. If you are reading this blog and you are not a family member of mine, will you comment on this post or send me at e-mail at slpleslieanne(at)yahoo(dot)com? It would mean a lot to me. I'd love to know who all is reading on a regular basis.

Thank you ahead of time. :)

Oh and before I go, I'll leave you with a fun/funny picture. This past week, my husband and I bought a used car. A Buick in fact :). Here's the proof. I love him.

Favorite Holiday Recipe

Linking up with Kelly at Kellyskornerblog.com for SUYL Friday!!

I have a ton of recipes that I love to cook but recently Matt and I came across a recipe for Sopapilla Cheesecake. Yes, it's ALL OVER PINTEREST but honestly, that's not where I got it. My mom sent me the recipe after her office party. We made it for Thanksgiving and I'm pretty sure it's a new tradition. YUM O

Here it is!

Sopapilla Cheesecake

Ingredients:
-2 cans pillsbury butter crescent rolls
-2-3(8oz) packages cream cheese (softened) This is your preference if you want more or less filling
-1 cup sugar
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-1 cup butter (melted)
-Cinnamon & sugar

Instructions:
Unrolled and spread 1 can crescent rolls on bottom of un-greased 9x13 pan or pyrex dish.

Combine softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla.
Spread mixture over crescent rolls.
Unroll and spread remaining crescent roll over mixture.
Pour melted butter over the top and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes. Keep an eye on it because it may cook faster depending on your oven.

*If making for a holiday gathering, prepare ahead and bake while you are eating dinner so it will be
ready when you are done eating. So yummy hot but just as good cold!

Each year for the last 7-10 years, my Mom has given me ornaments so that when I was married, I'd be able to decorate my tree. This year, Matt and I did just that. Witty Wednesday

It is Wednesday, right?

My mom sent me an e-mail with these funnies in it so I had to share!

                                 AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES

    1. If you're choking on an ice cube simply pour a cup of boiling water down your throat. Presto! The blockage will instantly remove itself

    2. Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold while you chop.

    3. Avoid arguments with the Mrs. About lifting the toilet seat by using the sink.

    4. For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember to use a timer.

    5. A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.

    6. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives, then you'll be afraid to cough.

    7. You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

    8. Remember: Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

Daily Thought: SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES. NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN PUSHED DOWN THE STAIRS

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

I know some of these are crude but I couldn't help myself!

Not Me! Monday

For the last four years, I have enjoyed reading blogs. I started reading them before I even considered writing one myself. It's fun to read and learn about other people's lives as they are willing to share. Recently, it has helped me make connections with new people in the blogging world etc. I enjoy it.

One of the blogs I enjoy reading is McMama's blog. I have always enjoyed her blog. She can be controversial at times but that's the fun in blogging. If you read something you don't like you shrug your shoulders and move on. She and her husband are believers and have 5 children. Anyway, neat and long story to their lives. Check out her blog if you are interested.

Every Monday, she writes a post called "Not Me". It's super fun and I've considered linking up to it several times but never have. Today, I thought I would give it a try.

This morning, I most certainly NOT get so involved in telling a story to my husband in the car that I hit him in the eye. Nope, NOT ME!

Last week, I never even thought about putting various refrigerated items into the pantry instead of the refrigerator because I'm not used to our new apartment yet. No, I would NEVER do that!

Lastly, I did not scream at the computer when I was watching the LSU vs UGA game because the announcers were ANNOYING me. NO! Does that sound like something I would do?! ;-)

I wish I had more of these fun statements or well, maybe I don't :)

The Morgan Family- 2011 Christmas Ornament

Today, Matt and I went downtown in Spartanburg for a Holiday Handmade Hoopla. It was an awesome exhibition of some local people who have AMAZING talent. We didn't buy much because our budget is tight but we got some business cards and names of Etsy shops so we can purchase things later if we want. We also got a great idea for a birthday gift for our brother-in-law.

We did buy one thing and we are super excited about it! We bought a handmade birdhouse ornament. Here is a photograph of our precious ornament courtesy of my husband. Isn't his photography amazing? I think so!

Happy Saturday and Geaux Tigers!

Christmas Traditions

Since this is our first Christmas as a married couple, we have been talking about new traditions we want to start together as well as some that we can start now and carry on with our kids once we have them. Matt read about a family who wraps up 25 books at the start of December and each night, one book is unwrapped and read. I thought this was great since I LOVE children's books and collect them. Matt said "we may not be able to do it this year because we don't have any books". I immediately went to our children's book bookshelf. I found 14 Christmas books! We started last night and I hope we will continue it until Christmas day. We have our eyes out for some inexpensive or even used Christmas books to add to our collection. So excited.

Here is what we read first!
Such a sweet story. You can get it on amazon here

It is a board book and pretty short. It will not disappoint.
