The Morgan's Movements 2018 {Week 9}

March is HERE!!! 

Love these two cuties! 

Someone wanted to be just.like.Dad. 

Who doesn't review the newest book in their underwear!?! 

  

He says, "YUM!" 

School time is his favorite. He said, "Addition is my favorite thing in the whole world!" 

  

Naps are few and far between these days so I try to capture them. 

He rests everyday but doesn't fall asleep much these days. 

This one! 

We had a crazy night one night when at about 10:45pm, a car ran through three front yards. We were up for hours. It was insane! 

Broke a light pole...

Missed this house by mere inches...

We had free entertainment that afternoon as they replaced the light pole. 

Lunch and books...our favorite! 

We've started using the Bible kids app for stories at the end of school time. We've both learned so much!

Matt made delicious pizza that night! YUM!

When looking at a dinosaur app, we found one just like one we have! Mason ran to go find it. 😊

We went to grab Froyo on Yogurt Mountain Friday evening. That made three happy guys! 

Saturday, the kids had a babysitter and Matt and I went to a marriage conference. We had a blast! 

A laugh a minute with this one!

We had lunch out at a delicious BBQ place! 

  

Sunday was church and relaxing. That afternoon, they offered to give me a foot massage. Can't say I hated that! 

Love life with my three guys. 

Ten Little Night Stars by Deb Gruelle {A Children's Book Review}

Okay, okay, I was just saying that I'm trying not to add children's books to our collection BUT I saw this one and thought it would be perfect for Maddox's second birthday! Ten Little Night Stars is a great night time and counting book. 

Ten Little Night Stars is well-illustrated with each page showing a different animal family. While I love books with people, I just cannot resist an animal book for my kids. Mason is quickly moving out of this book phase but I'm going to keep Maddox there a bit longer! 

As well as the beautiful illustrations, I love the rhyming nature of the book. Those books are my favorite for bedtime because they are fun to read but also quick. We can almost sing our way through them which the boys both love. 

This is a great little book to add to your collection!

Daisy Cakes Bakes {A Cookbook Review}

Daisy Cakes Bakes by Kim Nelson is the most beautiful cookbook I've seen a while! Nelson did an excellent job! I picked this book to review because Nelson is South Carolina-based baker and I love to support local folks when I can!

This cookbook is just delightful. Each of the recipes starts with a brief story that Nelson shares about where the recipe came from, why she uses it, etc. I love when chefs/bakers include that type of story with their recipes.

The recipes are well-written and easy to follow. My husband has already requested at least three things to be made for his birthday this year! :) I can honestly say that there are only a few recipes in the cookbook that I wouldn't want to try. The remaining 95% of them are calling my name!

If you need a new dessert cookbook, check this one out! And keep it in mind for gifts for Christmas too!

Real-Life Romance by Rhonda Stoppe {A Book Review}

Real-Life Romance: Inspiring Stories to Help you Believe in True Love by Rhonda Stoppe was a breath of fresh air! I read the whole book in one afternoon because I just couldn't put it down. In the pages of Real-Life Romance,  Stoppe shares over 15 stories from different couples about their love. 

I was holding my breath as I started to see how the stories would play out and I was pleasantly surprised and very pleased. Stoppe included a vast variety of love stories. I thought this was so important and makes the book dynamic. The incredible theme throughout all of the stories was God providence and redemption in certain situations. The stories are unique, some difficult, some not and just beautiful overall.

I continued to think about my own love story as I read and how God makes all things come together. This book is definitely a fun read, a great read for those who need re-focusing on true love. I was also cheering for these couples who fought through fire to get to where they were. And I wanted to get to know some of them more. I think we could be friends!!

Sex, Jesus and the Conversations The Church Forgot by Mo Isom {A Book Review}

Sex, Jesus, And the Conversations the Church Forgot by Mo Isom releases TODAY!!! I have followed Mo's story for many years and I enjoyed her first book tremendously so I was thrilled when I got the opportunity to be on the launch team for this new book, Sex, Jesus, and the Conversations the Church Forgot! 

Before I get into more about the book, I must say that I was cheering Mo on the whole time I was reading this book. She straight up bares her soul in this book. She talks so many details of her life sexually and how that has changed her, shaped her and given her a platform now that God has invaded her life. I especially appreciated that she was open and honest about the struggles she still had even when she became a Christian. I think that so often the portrayal is that you get to know Jesus and then life is peachy. She shares in depth about that and I appreciated her boldness so much. 

Sex, Jesus, and the Conversations the Church Forgot is an incredible resource for young, old, married, single. It doesn't matter where you are in life, this book can help you. I will say that I felt it was a bit more geared toward females but not overwhelmingly so. Just wanted to add that as an aside. 

Mo shares so much of her story in the pages of this new book but she also backs up the truths she shares with scriptures. That is so important always but when talking about sexual issues even more so! 

Some of my favorite quotes from the book: 

"...Sexual acts always tie souls. They always leave a mark--they were always intended to. Whether we carry them within or without God's design is what determines whether that mark is a seal or a scar, because sexual acts were designed to bind two people."

I also loved that while this book is explicitly about sex and conversations related to that topic, it also applies is so many areas of our lives in relation to purity and I appreciated that tremendously. Great Job, Mo! Everyone go check this book out!

Mom & Mason Date

Last Saturday, Mason and I went on a date to watch the Lady Spartans basketball team play at USC Upstate. One of our friends is one of the coaches and we loved finally getting to watch them play! 

We loved getting some time with the R fam, too!

Mason caught a shirt and a coozie. He was so proud!

E and Mason cleaned up. Hahah! 

  

They got the W and we had a great time!
