Fun Friday!
This day will be great. Our sweet friends, the Moody's, are in town and coming over for part of the afternoon to bake cupcakes.
After that, Matt and I will pack up the car and go to bed early so we can head to the beach on Saturday morning!
Oh and did I mention, I have a follow-up phone interview regarding a permanent SLP job position? Yep, I do. Hoping and praying that it goes well! Will update more when possible!

4 to 8 ounces of Hazelnut creamer
1 dollop of cool whip
Blend all ingredients together in the blender and drink...yummy!

Things that make me Happy Tuesday (2nd edition) |
Tuesday, Tuesday. Happy Tuesday!
Things that are making me happy/joyful/smile this week.
1. Knowing I'm going to the beach in 5 days with my husband to attend the wedding of a dear, dear friend.
2. Realizing the weather is cooling and fall is coming....slowly!
3. Looking forward to watching Law and Order: SVU (an old favorite) and Person of Interest (a new favorite) this week with the Mr.
4. Replaying, in my mind, the church service from Sunday when the entire congregation was singing "Great I Am" as Highlands Worship rocked out and God was GLORIFIED!
5. Hopeful anticipation of what God has for us next and knowing for sure that it's going to be awesome!
6. Knowing that Christmas is less than 90 days away and I'm basically done with all of our Christmas gifts except for the gifts Matt and I are giving to each other! WOOHOOO!!!!

Memory Monday! |
Today, I was just reminiscing a little bit and I thought about last year when Matt and I went to the Pumpkin Patch with the Moody family. We had an absolute blast with them (Jeff, Mandy, Ollie and baby Savell).
Then I got very excited because I realized that this year, we will get to do that again! Except this year, Matt and I are married, Savell is a 1 year old, Ollie is almost 4 and they all live in Knoxville, TN.
Matt and I are traveling to stay a weekend with them in the middle of October and we cannot wait! Here are some pictures from last year:
We can't wait to be in Knoxville, TN in less than 3 weeks!

Fun Friday |
This Fun Friday post might be a little boring because I haven't done too much this week. Job hunt in full force...more to come on that soon. DIY Christmas projects that I hope to finish this weekend. Will be nice to have all of Christmas taken care of this week and then Matt and I can focus on what we would like to do for each other for Christmas. We are excited and can't wait to decorate wherever we are.
This week, Matt and I have been talking about having kids. We are not pregnant and we are not planning to start a family until sometime next year. BUT, we have picked our names and they are precious! We absolutely love the two names we have picked and we are excited to name some precious babies when the time comes.
Why aren't we having children yet? Well, we have only been married 9 months and we would like more time just the two of us...to get to know each other, etc. We aren't in the position where we would like to be when we have children. Obviously, if we found out we were pregnant right now, we would be elated but ideally we would like to wait until our life situation is more stable, job wise etc.
The Lord will provide and we can't wait.
I think I was rambling! :)
No names will be revealed right now but I'll say this their initials will be MMM. :)

Thirsty Thursday! |
Matt and I wanted to share what our favorite drinks are right now. Since the weather is cooling down, it's the perfect time for Starbucks (occasionally).
Matt's is Pumpkin Spice Latte:

Wednesday Wisdom |
Matt and I have been encouraged lately by the wisdom that surrounds us. The most amazing part is the places it comes from. It's one of those experiences where you know it must be God.
In my quitting my job and preparing for something completely different, Matt and I have been excited because we know it was the best decision but also torn because we don't really know what's next. We have faith that it will be awesome, of course, but there are always those times when the enemy creeps in and the flesh rises up and you think "Holy crap, what were we thinking?!?!?!?"
This Sunday, Matt was able to play with Highlands Worship. He has been a part of Highlands Infuse for several months and has learned a lot and has been patiently waiting his time to play. He got a call Friday afternoon and they asked him to play Sunday. He was thrilled and quickly learned all the songs so he would play Sunday. I woke up Sunday morning with a horrible stomach ache and I was worried I wouldn't be able to hear him play or even be at church that day. I felt a little better a little before service so Mom and I got in the car and went.
When worship started, I was brought to tears. This happens sometimes so I was not completely caught off guard but this seemed different. Multiple times throughout the service, I got emotional and I just heard God's still small voice say "You made the right decision when you quit your job. However, choosing a new job is not the only part of the next step. You and Matt have to think about many other things. Remember, I put you both on this earth (as well as everyone else) to fulfill your passions and purposes. Think about that."
I just sat there and realized that playing in the worship team is Matt's passion and he seems even more fulfilled in that passion/purpose with Highlands Worship than anywhere else I've seen him. So right now, we feel like God is saying consider that.
I don't think that necessarily means that we stay in Montgomery or anything like that but it is something huge to consider in our next step.
Praise God for He is ALWAYS good!

Things that make me happy Tuesday |
Thought I would try to initiated some blogging for specific days of the week. I love when friends do it and I love reading them I just haven't had the time until now. So here goes with "Things that make me happy Tuesday"
1. Knowing that I made a hard decision in my life but at the same time, knowing that the decision was exactly what God wanted me to do!
2. Seeing my husband on stage with his electric guitar worshipping Jesus along people he admires and has worked hard with.
3. Being with my mom for a weekend of crafts and food and fun.
4. Decorating a cake (only my 2nd one so far).
5. Laughing with my husband until I cry from laughing so much.
**It's the little things for me, always has been**

Work Change |
To all who read-
Here is quick rundown on a BIG change in our lives right now.
NO----We aren't getting ready to welcome a little Morgan into the home but that was a nice thought :).
As of Thursday, September 15th, I am no longer employed with the company I have worked with since graduating. It was a hard decision but one that Matt and I both knew was exactly what I needed to do. When my last day ended, I felt as if a huge weight had been lifted. It was refreshing.
As of right now, we don't know what my (our) next step will be. We have lots of options, most of which we aren't ready to share right now. But we will soon! We are realizing quickly that a job is important but that even more important is Matt and I being able to fulfill our God given talents and passions by doing what he says!
Please be in prayer for us as we take steps toward this new direction of our lives.

My Birthday Month! |
As I have said before multiple times, I love birthdays especially my own. It doesn't have to be extravagant but I love knowing that there is a special time that is just about you to be loved on etc. Anyway, this year was my first birthday as a married woman and Matt had me super excited. I actually got a whole BIRTHDAY MONTH!!! I know, I know, he's awesome!
Each day, he would write a short little note, sometimes just 1-2 sentences and have a little treat for me. Sometimes is was something tangible like a vase of flowers or a slinky but other times it was a note saying I could have a backrub or that he would do the dishes. Each day I was excited about the treat and my sweet husband was pumped to give the treats too.
Since July, we had been planning a long weekend in South Carolina over my birthday weekend. We had plans to stay with Matt's grandparents (we love them). We were thrilled but as things go, we decided not to go last minutes because Hurricane Irene was heading that way and we didn't want to get caught in it. We changed our plans and ended up going to Birmingham for a night and we had a great time.
Saturday, I met Rachel for lunch and then Matt took me shopping and let me buy whatever I wanted! Saturday night, we went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (OH MY!) for dinner. We stayed that night in Birmingham and Sunday morning we had breakfast at a new restaurant called "The Egg and I". It was also delicious. Sunday and Monday were relaxing days. We read a lot, watched movies and worked on some of our DIY Christmas gifts.
Oh wait, one of my favorite parts was the sweet gifts I got on my actual birthday. I have been talking about wanting to learn to decorate cakes as a hobby and also to have as possible extra income one day. My sweet husband bought me all kinds of great cake decorating tools etc. He also baked a cake for my birthday for me to decorate. The icing we made was too thick so all we did was ice it but this weekend, my mom is coming into town and we are going to make a Saints Football cake. I'll post pictures soon!
Overall, it was a great weekend and month, for that matter. Some of the pictures from the weekend are below. Enjoy! (by the way, my husband got a new camera lens so he was enjoying taking pictures. That's why there are so many!)

Amazing Dessert! |
I have a new obsession with Pinterest. It has been awesome to find so many great recipes, cake decorating ideas and DIY projects. Recently, Matt and I were looking at Pinterest together and found a good dessert recipe. It is called Nutella Mug Cake. Matt and I both like Nutella but we don't have any in the pantry so we decide to make Peanut Butter Mug Cakes. Here is the recipe:
Ingredients
4 tablespoons self rising flour
4 tablespoons white granulated sugar
1 egg
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons melted/softened peanut butter
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil
4 tablespoons white granulated sugar
1 egg
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons melted/softened peanut butter
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil
Combine all ingredients in a large coffee mug. Whisk well with a fork until smooth. Microwave on high for 1 1/2 – 3 minutes. (Time depends on microwave wattage. Mine took 2 minutes.) Top with whipped cream and a little chocolate sauce if desired.
We actually made this tonight and it was incredibly good. It makes a large portion so 2 or 3 people could split it. We also ended up making ours in a chili bowl and it worked well. We only did this because our large mugs were in the dishwasher :)
