Mason Says & Does {46}

 "Why is the earth round but the ground feels flat?" 

Question in our devotional book: "Have You ever said no when you should have obeyed?" Both boys answered yes and then Mason said "20 million times." 😂

After eating cheese sauce in a meal. "This is too cheesy" 😂

"2020 is a crazy year!" #Amen

When we surprised the boys with the beach "Y'all really tricked us!" 

Mason was naming all kinds of parties. "Halloween party, thanksgiving party, pizza party. Here comes a silly one...a political party!" 😂

When getting ready to decorate for Christmas, I asked boys if they wanted to help. Mason said "If it's for Christmas, we're in!" 

One day, Matt had some music on and the boys were watching the videos on his phone. There is a line in one of the songs that said "Squad" and Mason said "The disciples and God are a squad!" ❤️❤️

"Mom, can I get a calculator one day?"

Mason was feeling presents to guess what they are and I told him not to guess out loud. Maddox asked what something was and Mason said "I can't tell you. Have you ever kept a secret in your life?!?" 😂

One night at devotional time, I gave the boys towel to sit on to try to keep them a bit more still. Mason picked the towel up between his legs, almost like a diaper and moved around the room with it like that. "My bottom is still on the towel" 🤣

Matt let both boys drive the truck with him in the year. Maddox poked his head out "Hey, lady!" Matt prompted Mason to say "Can I have your number?" and unprompted, Maddox yells "Can I get you a sandwich?" 😂😂😂

I made waffles one morning and Maddox told Mason to be careful because they were hot. Mason responded "It's warm. It's actually kind of soothing." 🤣

We decided to have a family slumber party for NYE. Mason said "Let's have a breakdancing party!!" Maddox said "LETS GET LEGO SETS AND BUILD THEM!" (spoiler alert: we didn't do either 😂)

One day before we gave the boys the Nintendo switch, Matt and Mason were playing a game on Matt's old Xbox. Mason said "I can't wait to play both of our switch games!" Matt asked what he meant. Mason responded " We have my lego game that Maddox gave me for Christmas and at Black Friday (at that point 6 weeks before this conversation), Wal-Mart was selling a Switch with Mario Cart for two hundred and ninety-nine dollars SO we will just get that one." 😍😍😍 Little did he know, we had already bought that exact one and stored it away until they earned the money to pay for it. ❤️❤️❤️

Mason was wearing his Patrick Mahomes t-shirt under this button-up pajamas. He said "Hold on, I've got to unbutton my shirt to let Patrick out." 😂😂😂

I told the boys I needed to hurry and got to the grocery store because it closed at 8. Mason checked the time which was 6:50 and said "You have seventy minutes." Math skills at work! 

Mason got a sour gum ball at Mast General Store. After eating it, he said "It made one little tear fall out of his eye." 😂

Mason's 7th Birthday!

After Halloween fun was done, we set up for Mason's big day! 

Our tradition is waking up the birthday boy/girl with balloon and singing "Happy Birthday!" 

It was a Sunday so we had church but we let Mason open a few gifts before breakfast. Maddox picked out some new comic books. ❤️

After breakfast, the boys stayed in their pjs and we headed to Wal-Mart for our traditional stop of clearance halloween candy for the birthday boy! And well, the rest of us, too. 😉

After church, Mason got to open the rest of his gifts. 

The Etch-A-Sketch from GiGi was a fast favorite! 

We had pizza, too! No surprise there since it is Mason's favorite! 

This boy picked out this mini cake and cupcakes and was HAPPY about his choice! 

He said he had a great birthday! 

 

Mason Says & Does {45}

-Me: Mason, do you have anything in your seat?

Mason: Just a napkin, a larabar wrapper, another larabar wrapper,  straw paper, and that's all" 

Me: 😂😂😂

-Maddox: I wish we had gone to Happy Hollow more before the virus. I miss it because it has monkey bars and hiding spots. 

Mason: We didn't get to because Marcus and Maxwell died right before the virus and we weren't going out much." 

😭😭😭

-"Today, I'm thankful for the word 'knucklehead". 😂

-Mason had 3 cents. "Can we go to the closest store for me to buy something!?!" 

-"Fact: Puffer fish have enough poison to kill 30 humans." then he walked out of the room. 

-While passing a 7-11, "Dad can we get a big gulp? They are only 49 cents!" 

-Mason went to bed one night asking "Can we take a nap tomorrow?" 😂

-Mason came out of his room and said "My roommate needs to go to the bathroom." That'd be Maddox. 

-Me: Mason is that all you need? Mason: yes. for now. 😂

-When we did The Morgan Hotel, Mason said "Thanks for this." ❤️

-For the room service, Mason said "Can you tell me what the sausage looks like?" 😂

-"Fog is just a cumulus cloud near the ground." 

-Regarding a shirt, "Can you inside this out?" 

-While sitting outside watching cars go by and just relaxing "This is the best day of our lives!" 😍

-When asked to fill out his poster for kids club, he wrote this "I am a star because of my cool muscles." 

-Mason and I were going through math problems and I said, "Is that right?" He said "well, by the sound of your voice, I'm guessing no." 😂😂

-Matt was asked by Mason if he would prefer a four wheelers, dirt bike, an x-wing or a Snow Speeder. 😍

-The boys were going through the house opening every door and closer and yelling "Aha!" looking for a creature or a robber. 

-While learning about caterpillars and butterflies, the boys laughed uncontrollably every time I said "pupa" Boys...

-I told the boys there was no crying on my birthday. Mason said "What!?! Not even if I lose a foot?!?!" 😂

-Me: Mason, don't come in my room during rest time unless it's an emergency. I'm going to take a nap today. 45 minutes later, Mason shows up at the door whispering: Mommmmmmmm did you know a dolphin in a mammal?! I laughed and asked if that was an emergency. Then later, I asked him if he'd seen the mailman during rest time. He said "Yes but it wasn't an emergency so I didn't tell you." 😂😂😂

-Mason: Mom, do you know where frisbees were invented? 

Me: no....

Mason: at a frisbee factory. 

😂

-One night at bedtime, Mason informed Matt that he was already growing a mustache. Matt thought he was joking and almost laughed but then realized he was serious. Mason then said "He can already see some hair there." aka. peach fuzz. 😍😍

-Maddox made a joke and we were all cackling. Mason said "You finally made a joke that made me laugh." 😂

Mason Says & Does {44}

Matt told the boys I had to be in the bedroom away from them while awaiting test results.

Mason: We can have iPad time! We can make a mess! we can do whatever we want!

Maddox: I don't know about that, Mason

😂😂

Mason called Ritz crackers: "Fritz crackers." ❤️

After reading the Mercy Watson books, Mason asked for a "piece of toast with a great deal of butter". ❤️

There were leaves in the dryer one day after I finished a load of laundry. I asked the boys about it. Mason said, "It was probably me!" 😂

Mason walked outside and saw that it was sunny. "ahhhhh. The sunnnnn. I'm going to need sunscreen!"

Mason was playing "dirt bike teacher" outside one day. He walked over to Matt and sat down and huffed. "The bad news is I got fired from being a dirt bike teacher....but the good news is I'm now the best dirt bike rider in the world!!"

Matt told a story one day about a car running a light. Mason says "That's life" 😂

Mason put his hat on with his sunglasses on top and told me he was a cool kid. 😭

One night during prayers: And thank you for my brother, especially." ❤️

On the day before school started, Mason was saying he wasn't excited about then he was seen putting all of his books in his backpack and carrying them around the house. Matt and I weren't sure if we believed him. 😉

One day, we were needing to get some chores done. Mason immediately jumped in saying he would vacuum. Without one complaint, he vacuumed their bedroom, the hallway and the living room!

I got some Planter's cheese balls in a can at Aldi. These are something I grew up eating and loving. I gave some to the boys for lunch one day. Mason said, "Have you had these?" I said, "Boy! I grew up eating these!" 😂

"I bet since it's the 4th of July God will make the fireflies make an American flag with their lights." ❤️

Mason made a blueberry cobbler and Maddox cut some strawberries to go on the side. Without prompting, Mason said, "Thanks for cutting up the strawberries, Maddox."
A bit later Maddox said, "Mase, thanks. Your blueberry cobbler is good!!" 

Mason hopped on Matt's side of the bed one morning and after resting for a bit said "These pillows are the kind I want!"

One morning, I asked Mason to take his sheets and blanket off of his bed to be washed. He did without question and then asked if he could do Maddox's bed, too.
Yes you can!

One day we were decided whether or not to get donuts as a family. (Pause because why would that ever be a question!?!)
Mason said he wanted to get completely dressed to go and I told him he was fine in pajamas because we were just going through the drive-thru and we'd come home and eat them. He said, "I can live with that!!"

Matt and the boys were on a walk while I awaited my COVID results. I called Matt to tell him and he told the boys. Mason said "I'll hug her 25 times!!"

We have been praying for various people each evening during our family devotional time. Mason prayed for Aunt Anne one night saying "God, thank you for Aunt Anne's awesome cooking." 😍😍

One evening, we ate chicken salad sandwiches using some I'd found at Aldi. Mason was NOT a fan and said, "Next time, make me some. I do not like those!" 😂 Makes a mom feel good when her food is the better one! ❤️
