Snow Days!

Sunday, December 9th, we woke up to this! It was beautiful but the sleet made it a bit hard to play. 

The boys were ready to try though! 

Maddox lasted approximately 2.7 minutes but Mason stuck it out a bit longer. Matt did, too! 

  

  

See? He was OVER IT! That face!!! 

We found respite inside and enjoyed some cozy snuggles and play time and reading. 

  

Then our electricity went out. :( yeah...that's a tree on the line. 

Thankfully, Grandmom and Granddad took us in. We don't keep the house super warm so when power goes out, we lose heat quickly. Matt and I would have been fine but I didn't know how the boys would do so we bailed and went for warmth. 

We got to experience a bit of Hanukkah with Granddad and Grandmom, too! 

  

We all ate well and slept well and the next morning, Maddox decided he needed to see what Granddad was doing. ;) 

Mason was in big tv screen heaven. 😂

   

Maddox's had lost its pom pom and Grandmom happened to have the exact yarn so we all made a new pom pom for it! 

 

That obviously required him to rest after. 😂

Cozied up with Daddy. 

I mean, this is the life, right? 

That afternoon, we ran home to get more clothes only to find our power restored! We are so grateful for an unexpected 24 hours with Grandmom and Granddad. And for power. :) 

Snow Day {January 2018}

Well, nearly two weeks later seems like a good time to recap our snow day. 😉

When we went to bed the night before, we knew that it was likely but we didn't really say anything to the boys. That morning, Mason was pumped up! 

And Maddox just wanted milk. 😉

  

Then he wanted a hat so he could go out. 😂

  

Big brother needed in on that, too! 

Unfortunately for them, we just stayed inside for the morning. It was so beautiful to watch from inside. 

Maddox climbed up to get a better view for himself. 

We pulled out Hot Wheels to play for a while. So fun to have them both playing well with the same toys. 

Matt sent us a few pictures from work. He was busy shoveling sidewalks. 

And making snow faces. 😊

The snow continued to accumulate for the better part of twelve hours and ended with about 4 inches or so. 

  

  

Another step toward going outside even when it wasn't time. 😂

After nap, I got some snuggles from this guy. 

His buddies joined us, too! 

Then Daddy got home and they headed outside to play! 

  

  

  

When Maddox woke up, he had to join in. I offered to come out and they all said they didn't need me so I just stayed inside! 

  

  

YUM!! 

  

One more view. It was so beautiful and we are grateful for the chance to enjoy a bit of it!
