International Fest {October 2019 }

International Fest is one of our favorite events of every year. This year was NO exception and dare I say, it was the best one ever.

Ready to go enjoy the day!

Some sillies first.

This year's host culture was Puerto Rico.
There was so much fun to be had between food,  music and more. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

Matt had been wanting Penguinos Hermanos and it was delicious!

Pulling his own weight. 😉

Bubble Tea was my one request for the day!

It was a bit drizzly and we were glad we brought the picnic blanket to sit on/cover up with.

After the parade of nations, we walked around seeing all of the countries and getting the boys' passports stamped!

More food after that!

Then some play time/craft time for the boys.

More performances. The boys LOVED this one in particular.

It made Matt and I both tear up.

More playing.

Yep, more food.

After 7 hours at the fest, we headed to the cultural center to check out this incredibly large inflatable globe. It was so cool!

Our tradition (well, this was the second year 😂) has been to leave the fest and go find incredibly American food at Papa's Breakfast Nook. Neither Matt nor I were hungry so the boys split a pancake. 😊

By the end of the day, we had eaten Penguinos Hermanos, Cambodian bubble tea, Hmong sausage, empanadas, Nigerian coconut rice, Puerto Rican plantain and tres leches, Hmong fried rice, egg rolls, seasame balls and Cambodian salpicon. It was a GOOD day!

Maddox Says & Does {21}

I use a toothbrush for my eyebrows. Random but my mom has always done it, too, so it's what I do. One morning, Maddox asked what I was doing and I explained it to him. He said, "When I was your age, I used this toothbrush a lot a lot and it got old." 😂

At one point, I kissed Mason and Maddox got on to me, "You forgot about me!"

I said something to the boys about children. Maddox said "Mason and I are not children. We are KIDS!"

One afternoon, Maddox told Matt that he hadn't. been to a particular park since Mason was in Momma's belly. 😂

At Barnes and Noble with Maddox one day, "Why do we not live here?" ❤️

On that same Barnes and Noble trip, he heard them calling overhead for samples and he went running!

Knock knock joke:
KK
WT
Chicken
Chicken Who?
Chicken Poop pickle muffin
🙈

Maddox needed a yellow crayon and Mason was using it so he made his own pretend one.

Maddox said, "Did someone steal Uncle Ben and Aunt Anne's toys? and that's why they don't have any?" 😂😂😂

I told the boys, "Come on Morgan boys! Let's go!" Maddox said, "Alright Morgan girl!" 😂

Maddox saw the geese below and he said "I think they are playing duck duck geese. NO! Geese, Geese, Geese!"

"Mom, you know Jesus and God are the same person."

"I made all of this food for homeless people." 😭😭😭

We turned on Mason's math lesson DVD and Maddox hopped up on the couch with us. Mason asked if he was going to learn too. Maddox said "No, I'm going to teach you," 😂

Maddox said he teared something. I said "You tore it?" and he said, "no I teared it. Teared and tore are the same. I liked teared." 😂

"Mayor Huffdinger doesn't ever make good choices. Every day, he makes poor choices." Later on: "He doesn't make good choices because he had a bad guy mustache!"

Maddox said "I Love you more than donuts and ice cream and chicken and watermelon!" I said "Whatttt?" and he said "in the world!"

Maddox asked me what chips are made from. I told him usually potatoes and some are made from tortillas. He asked what else and I was thinking. He said, "Mom, well, Cheetos are made out of cheese so you know that one!"

Mason received a stuffed Tulane Green Wave as a birthday gift. Maddox just walked up to him in the sweetest and softest voice, "I love your green wave, dude." ❤️

Mason Says & Does {40}

"For my birthday, do I have to do school work?"

This involves both boys but I'll put it here. I beat the guys home from somewhere one day so I did the victory dance that we usually do. They got out of the car saying "We are all winners in God's eyes." and dancing. 😂😂

At story time one day, they were talking about whales and Mason matter of factly said, "Yeah, they eat krill."

Mason told me he wanted to name his son, "Ketchup."

"Please move the sun because I'm right in it," I asked him how to do that. He said, "Ask God!"

Matt took the boys to the zoo and all of the giraffes were moving around and it was a great trip. While stopped at the giraffes, Mason said " Do you see his p*nis? It's big, too!" 🙈

Mason found four pieces of goat food on the ground at the zoo and without hesitation, he gave 2 to Maddox. ❤️😭

We were watching the Vikings versus Eagles. Mason said he was cheering for the Vikings. "The Vikings are the best team right now!"
