Mason Graduates from Speech! {November 2018}

Last Monday, Mason had his last speech session! He's worked hard for 2 years and made so much progress. He has a few sounds that aren't perfected but they are higher level developmentally and aren't a concern at this point. 

Mason has had several speech therapists but Miss Claire is the one he finished with this week.

The Morgan's Movements 2018 {Week 44}

Well, I had good intentions of blogging most of last week and it just didn't happen. But you know what? That seems to be becoming a trend and I'm okay with that. This is important to me but it isn't everything. We had a full week with me working more hours than I typically do and this just moved back. No big deal. I am sitting at Panera writing some posts for this week so hopefully I get caught up. Super thankful for Matt saying it was time for me to get out of the house to do this. Love him. 

A couple of weeks ago, Matt was home with Maddox while I was at speech with Mason and they ate a whole meal together. Maddox is a good cook. 

We also made a trip to Target to scope out the Halloween stuff and see what we may want to get once things went on clearance.

When we got home from Target, our neighbors were coming over with donuts for the boys. Even though that one donut is a mess, the boys ate them right up! 

On Halloween, Matt dressed up like his co-worker, Larry, who is a big time Clemson fan. It was so funny! 

  

This says he's been there for 86 years. 😂

Mason got up on Halloween morning and I had cleared out the corner to get ready for the Christmas tree. Mason said "Want to come lay by me?" 😂

Instead, we settled for snuggles on the couch all together. Love these sleepy heads.

That morning we ended up having to take Maddox to the doctor. We had been to Pump-It-Up the day before and they all jumped and had a great time. The next morning, Halloween, Maddox wouldn't put all of his weight through his feet and was seeming like he was hurting. I called the doc and took him in. By the time we got there, he was much improved. Go figure. 

Pure silliness...

When we got back there, he was limping a bit still and the doctor felt it was a bit swollen so she did x-ray it. Everything came back fine thankfully and by the end of the day, he was all good. 

We went to the library that afternoon for storytime and boys got candy. I always have them come outside at the library to eat food and this day Maddox took for.e.ver...😳

Then he was hot so this happened in the library parking lot. 😂

  

  

That fireman's helmet didn't leave his head for days...days. Even while he was cooking. 

This guy was lounging fully. 

One day it was rainy and icky and we had popcorn for snack and watched a movie. 

Then this happened when Maddox was done with his popcorn. He had not touched in some time so I put it away and he cried and cried. 

  

That afternoon, I went to work and Maddox ended up in his bed for some cool-down time. He asked Matt to join him. :) 

He then helped himself to the sink so he could brush his teeth. :) 

Matt made roasted pumpkin seeds and when Mason realized how good they were, he couldn't help but eat them! 

Saturday morning kid's workshop and Maddox built some of his this time! 

  

Matt took the boys to LEGO block party and they made a few creations. 

I caught them reading later that day. Everyone was into it. 

Sunday morning heading to church. It was cold but we were bundled up cozy warm! 

A storm trooper joined us later. 

That night at AWANA, this big boy was there. :) 

That was our week. Well, most of it. ;) 

Buster's Ears Trip Him Up {A Children's Book Review}

Buster's Ears Trip Him Up: When You Fail by Edward T Welch is a great book in the Good News For Little Hearts Series is a great addition to our ever-overflowing bookshelf! 

This book, Buster's Ears Trip Him Up, addresses pride as well as how to recover when you fail at something. This book is definitely for ages 5+ as it is on the longer side and the concepts are for older than toddler-age children. 

Buster and his sister go to summer camp and Buster is looking forward to a race that he is certain he will win. He is boastful throughout the week and so sure of himself. When the race takes place, he looks back to see how far ahead he is and when he does, he trips and falls and loses the race for his team. He is overwhelmed by the loss and he and his sister have a big conversation about pride coming before the fall as well as God loving no matter our failures. The key verse is Romans 5:8 which is one Mason has recently studied in AWANA so it was fun to go back over that verse and see it in a real-life situation. 

I think this book is great for any child but especially for children who are going through a season of boasting/pridefulness. Incredible, incredible resource!
