The Berenstain Bears: Blessed are the Peacemakers

**I received this book from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for my review.**

Now that we have Mason who is 10 months old (!!!!), I feel like I'm drawn more and more to children's books. And here's the thing, we have like 300+ of them. Many are books that were mine and Matt's as children's. Many were given to me. Many are books that we have picked up at garage sales or Goodwill for 25 cents a piece. Nonetheless, we have quite the book collection. BUT I just can't stop! It is rare for me to purchase a book new so I don't feel like it's bad! HAHA!

All of that to say, I was PUMPED when I saw The Berenstain Bears books on BookLook. It turns out that those bears have some books based on biblical principles now. Now, they have always been books with lots of morals to them but these books are biblically based. Title examples include God Bless our Home, The Forgiving Tree, God Bless the Animals and this book, Blessed are the Peacemakers.

The book is about two groups of children, Too-Tall and his gang and Ferdy Factual and his friends. They were always at odds with each other. Brother and Sister bear were not a part of either group but rather liked to get along with everyone. The story talks about the annual play and gives examples of the difficulties the groups faced. In the end, a lesson is learned and shared.

This book is quite wordy and would be more appropriate for ages 3+ in my opinion but that doesn't stop me from opening the pages and showing Mason the pictures and simplifying the book, which is exactly what I did. I loved this book and thought it was well written. I'll be on the look out for more of these Berenstain Bear books...they were a childhood favorite!
