Birdhouse Painting with Grandmom and Granddad {September 10th, 2019}

Back in September, the library had a grandparent's event for painting bird houses. Matt saw it advertised and asked Grandmom and Granddad if they would like to participate and they said yes! Grandmom and Mason were paired together. Granddad and Maddox were paired together and they had a great time! The end results were beautiful!

After they painted, Mason gave the grand tour of the library.

Maddox played. 😂

We are so thankful for all that our library does and for the incredible Grandmom and Granddad!

Firemen at the Library!

We don't miss many opportunities to go to the library and when firemen are coming to the library, there's extra incentive! The Morgan boys LOVE firemen and firetrucks so this was a BIG win!

At the start of their time, they just talked to the kids and then a fire(wo)man put on all of the gear piece by piece. It is a little unnerving but the boys weren't scared!

Maddox went in for a high five!

Mason, too, but the picture isn't good!

After that, we got to look at their truck. They brought two but we spent most of our time at one.

Handsome guy...

These two were too occupied fighting fires to take pictures.

It was a fun afternoon! We are excited for Maddox's fire station birthday party in June!

Summer Reading: Check!

The Morgan boys have finished their summer reading for the year. We headed to the library to turn in their forms. They earned a free book, and two prizes. They each chose their book and then chose a shaker and a water bottle. This may be our last year that Mason will be completely read to for summer reading.Next year, he'll probably be reading some short books by himself!

K9 Unit at Library

This past Monday, the library hosted the K9 Unit from Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office. The date wasn't the best for us and neither was the time but Mason was interested in it and I knew Maddox would like it so we decided to make it work.

Two officers were there along with two dogs. Some of the content was over their heads but they both remained interested most of the time.

Mason got to try on one of the vests. That thing was heavy!

One officer brought along his bloodhound mix and that was the one we got to see the most of.

The boys each got to pet the dog but were so fast that I didn't snap a picture. Maddox was a little clingy but happy so I just snuggled him up.

At the end, I grabbed a picture of the boys with Rebel. They turned out dark but oh well!

The other officer told the small group that was left that we could come see the other dog as well. He was a bit wild but the boys loved watching him! It was quite hilarious to see him.

It was such a great event and further confirmed how much we love our library!!
