The Morgan's Movements {Late April 2016}

It is MAY!!!! That means that we are having a baby NEXT MONTH!!! 

It feels like weeks just move quicker and quicker right now. 

Let's finish out the fun that April brought us. 

We got to go to Grandmom and Granddad's for a simple dinner and Mason got some special snuggles with his Daddy. He was sure happy about it. :)

The next morning, Matt was off and he took Mason to the park and his mom and Grandmom joined them. Mason looked so big in the big swing.

That night, I gave Mason a bath and he kept asking to go to the potty. So he did. He was so proud!

The next morning, Mason decided that he needed his shades to watch his morning show. haha! He was all dressed and ready for some fun at Kindergym!

Saturday morning, I headed out to work and Matt and Mason had some giggles! Mason jumped into Matt's comfy spot on the couch!

Since we had a free bagel each day of the month, Matt and Mason shared one for breakfast. This is Mason asking for a "little" bite of Matt's banana. :)

That afternoon, my best friend sent me a sweet picture of her newest bundle of joy. I love her SO!

That evening, Matt's mom came back to our house after spending the week with her parents. We had Mexican dinner and then we headed to....

I had been hearing about this place and we couldn't wait to try it! While we waited, the guys played a bit.

I was the most excited pregnant woman that night! Strawberry cheesecake with condensed milk? Yes, please!

Mason LOVED it, too!

I love this guy so much!

Sunday morning, we got up early and headed to Atlanta. Our plan? Sublime Donuts, meet up with Matt's Dad to "return" his Mom ;) and we got some IKEA fun, too! 

As usual, Mason was a great car buddy.

Monday morning, I had my 33 weeks appointment (which went well) and our plans for the morning changed so we got to head to The H's house to visit and see the new baby chicks!!! Mason couldn't make up his mind if he liked the chicks or didn't like them...haha!

Tuesday morning, we had music group and just had a low key day. Wednesday morning, we met some friends at the park for playtime. The weather was great and we stayed for TWO hours!!!

Later on that day, I found Mason in the living room reading ALL of the books. It was so sweet!

And then? SNUGGLES!!!! I love this guy so much!

Wednesday night, Matt's church night, means date night for Mason and Mom!! Cici's was the choice for us!

Thursday, Mason and I spent the whole day at home. We colored toilet paper rolls, watched a few shows, painted, Mason had a bath, and the list goes on. It was FUN!!!

Thursday night was supposed to be a work night for me but Matt got off later than usual so I pushed it back to Friday night. After dinner and Matt getting home, we got more snowballs!! YUM!!

Friday morning, we went to Hatcher Garden and met up with some friends from MOMS club!

Later,  I was working on chores and walked into the living room to see Mason sitting like this...love!

Friday night was actually a work night so that means snuggles between my guys!

I ended up not having to work Saturday so we had a fun day (I'll recap more of that later since it was Mason's 1/2 birthday weekend!)

We did get some beautiful flowers (from our neighbors' garden.) ;-)

Together At The Table by Hillary Manton Lodge {A Book Review}

Ah, Hillary Manton Lodge, you definitely reeled me in with this series. I read the first book in this series 2 years ago and at the time, I didn't know it was a part of a coming sequel. Until I got to the end. I was so mad/sad that day! I waited nearly a year and got to read the second book and loved it equally. And then here we are another year later and I finally got to finish the story! Together at the Table by Hillary Manton Lodge was BEAUTIFUL!!

This past weekend, Together at the Table arrived at my doorstep and I finished reading it in less than 36 hours. Hillary starts the book well and it was easy to get back on track where the last book left off. That being said, I also think that if you have not read the previous two books, you'd still be able to pick up pretty easily. I do think that it's best read after the other two, though. 

As with the previous books, I loved the recipes included in the book. At the end of a few chapters, Hillary includes the recipe of something mentioned in the previous chapter. It's fun to not just hear about a fancier food but to actually see that it can be recreated with the recipe. That's just a fun addition to all three of the books, I think. 

I loved continuing Juliette's story. The book picks up approximately 2-3 months after the last book, I believe and I thought that was good timing. Much has changed in Juliette's life in those few months and while so much is going well, much is unsettled, as well. The book focuses on her romantic relationships, family relationships, and also the mystery of her ancestors which was originally introduced in the first book and then continued into the 2nd book and concluded in the third book. 

Overall, I thought it was all well written and I couldn't put it down!! 

So, check it out but my recommendation is definitely reading the first two books, first. :)

Mason--2.5 Years Old {An Update}

Happy 1/2 Birthday, Mason Matthew Morgan!!!

I can hardly believe you are 2 1/2 years old! 

I wanted to write a little bit about what Mason's been up to these days so that I can look back on it. We are so proud of him and how quickly he learns. Of course, there are lots of crazy moments, too. But, hey! that's life with a 2 year old!

--Mason is still a great sleeper. He sleeps nightly from 7-7 and each day he naps from 1-3. He is still in his crib and we are happy to let him be there as long as he will stay!

--We have definitely been through some picky eating stages but right now, Mason is eating most things we offer. He will nearly always try a new food for us even if he doesn't end up eating it. His favorites are probably chicken nuggets, fruit of any kind, green beans and sweets!!

--Mason knows all of his (basic) colors when asked to identify them and he can say them as well. 

--Mason can count 1-6 and is able to identify some of the numbers when asked as well as count items in a group of  1, 2, or 3.

--We have been working on the ABCs as well. He can point to over half of them correctly when asked and when asked to name them, he can probably name about half as well. Not the same half though...haha! We have been taking our time on this because a couple of times, he got frustrated and that's not how learning is supposed to be at this age! So we just relaxing and going slowly.

--Mason can identify all basic shapes as well and can name 2-3 of them.

--Speaking of his speech, he has a TON of words. Unfortunately, right now, I'm the main one who can understand him and Matt can get about 50%-75% of what he says. For unfamiliar listeners, it's a little more difficult. He's definitely made some progress and I'm not deeply concerned at this point. I'm just addressing it at home as much as possible and when the time comes, if we need to address through outside therapy, we will.

--Mason is excited about baby coming. He points to the crib often, asks where baby is and gives the occasional kiss to the belly. I know it's going to be a HUGE transition for him but I'm hopeful that he will do great.

--We have definitely entered into the stage where much discipline is taking place. He's learning how to push boundaries, trying to establish what he can and can't do and all of that fun stuff. It's all part of it but man, some days it is definitely tiring!

--Mason LOVES back and belly rubs right now.

--This kiddo is definitely a big fan of his Daddy! When Matt gets home, I could go anywhere and he wouldn't notice a thing!



--Mason enjoys going to Kindergym at the local YMCA when we get the chance. I definitely look forward to getting him involved in a sport of some sort when he's a little older!

--Our sweet boy enjoys books and would like us to read about 25 a day. :)

--When Mason gets to watch a show, he usually picks Curious George and now he has added in Chuggington or Chuck & Friends.
