Zoo Fun with our Buds!

A few weeks back, Kris asked if Mason and I wanted to join them at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia at some point before the baby arrived. We jumped on that opportunity!

Monday morning, we were up early and headed out...all smiles!

Aside from a few fusses on the way from the kiddos, we made it all in one piece, happy and ready for the animals and adventure! :)
First up...otters! They were playing and it was fun!

Roar!!!

A was a little more stoic, like Mr. Lion. :)

Penguins!

These bears looked like they were kissing. Couldn't NOT get a picture of that. :)

Mason was asking about the lions BUT as usual, at least when we go to the zoo, they were sleeping.

I love this little guy SO much!

"Hey Guys, look at the camera!"

....yeah, not so much.

We had the chance to feed the birds but Mason wasn't interested. A was an old pro, though!

Then, it was Carousel time!
Mason was a little uncertain but he didn't mind snuggling me and sitting in the big comfy seat on the carousel. :)

These two loved ALL of the animals all morning long. It was great!

Mason especially enjoyed the various monkeys. :)

I think the elephants were my favorite! They were chowing down on breakfast and it was crazy how much they ate in each bite!

Sweet friends.

We love our friends!

The meerkat exhibit was so cute. They were running everywhere.

And the gorillas? Always fun!

We also got to feed the giraffes.

After lunch and seeing all of the reptiles, we were DONE! We headed out for home. Mason caught a cat nap on the way, thankfully!

Oh wait, I forgot, Mrs. Kris shared her Icee. Mason wasn't mad about that! :)

When we got home, I was exhausted so I forced Mason to snuggle with me. It was good!

Thanks for the fun, guys! WE LOVED IT!!!

Celebrating Mason's 1/2 Birthday!

Our sweet boy is 2 1/2 years old!!!! We had planned to celebrate just on Sunday but the weather was so unpredictable that we did a little bit of celebrating Saturday and a little bit on Sunday.
Saturday morning, we got yummy breakfast at Golden Corral!!

After that, we headed to Panera. It was my last day for a free bagel and Matt had a free birthday treat!! Our freezer is stocked with yummy bagels for a rainy day!
While we waited, Mason enjoyed some car fun. :)

Next stop, Academy to check out water bottles. Mason and Matt got a little rest while we were there.

We also tried out some baseball gear!

After nap, it was time for a little fun at the book store--Mason's favorite place these days.

Sunday morning, we sang Mason a 1/2 birthday song and headed to church. But first? A few pictures!!

Mason got to pick out a $1 toy at Target and he picked out a soccer ball!

After church, I had to go to work and Matt and Mason enjoyed a low key lunch at home. Mason is VERY into cheeseballs right now!

Silliness before nap sounds like a good idea!

We finished the day with some fun at the library at a cheap dinner at Cook-Out! It was well loved by all!

Happy 1/2 Birthday, Mason!!

Counting Blessings by Eileen Spinelli {A Book Review}

Counting Blessings could not be resisted at the Morgan household! We LOVE all kinds of children's books but counting books are at the top of the list these days as Mason is learning to count.

I LOVED this book! The illustrations were bright and vivid which is always a draw for kids and me. :) The first part of the book goes through counting 1-10 naming specific things. I like when a counting book makes sure that the number on the page actually has that number of items on the page. This book did that...win!

The next portion of the book continues on with 10 things in which to be thankful. I think that this is so awesome because it's easy to forget our blessings and this book is a reminder of the little things to be thankful for.

I also liked that the book pages are thick as is the cover. It's durable which will be good with another little bit coming along soon! :)

**Thanks, BookLook for sending the book for me to review.**
