Knoxville {Fall 2013}

During the weekend of September 27th, we made a trip to Knoxville. It has become tradition for us to join the Moody's at a Pumpkin Patch each Fall. Our first year, we went in Montgomery. It was just before Matt and I got married. The following year, we were getting ready to move to Spartanburg and the Moody's had just moved to Knoxville so we made the trip there. Now that they are in Knoxville which is just 2 1/2 hours from us, we have gone there each year since. Matt took a lot more pictures but I didn't go through all of them. Here are just a few from the Pumpkin Patch and the weekend.

Lela was showing off her skills. :)

Savell posing pretty for the camera.

The following 4 pictures are of Ollie and I over the past 4 years!!

36 Weeks {A Pregnancy Update}

We are due to have a baby in just 4 weeks.
WHAT THE WHAT!?!!?

**I've been so sore lately. Guess all of my muscles are stretching and doing whatever it is they do. It usually is just noticeable at the beginning of the day and end of the day.

**During this two week period, I've had a little more swelling than in past weeks. It is not consistent which is GREAT! but if I spend a day doing a lot of moving about, it may or may not result in some swelling. The more water I drink, the less swelling there is.

**Grandmom and I went yard-saling last weekend and it was a blast! I spent $5.50 and got 14 baby clothing items, 2 bibs, 2 burp cloths, one little Christmas hat and a brand new box of blocks.

**Last Sunday, Matt took pictures for a family as a trade off for a box of cloth diapers. The box contained a large variety of diapers and I'm not sure how many of them we will use at least to start with but it was well worth the exchange.

**Matt took some maternity pictures and they turned out so well. I will post all of them soon!

**We've received several of the large items from our registry including the activity mat, Bumbo, monitor, booster seat. We still need a few small items but as for the basics, we've mostly got it covered.

**Monday, October 7th, the baby kicked literally all day long. I think a conservative guess would be 100 times. It was crazy and awesome at the same time!

**Tuesday morning, I was cold so Matt rolled over and snuggled up close and put his hand on my stomach. The baby started moving and all of a sudden, I got a swift kick right to the right side of my stomach directly into Matt's hand! It was the first time a kick has actually hurt. It was crazy! This baby is growing like crazy!!

**Over this past weekend, I caught a cold. UGH!! I don't like to have a cold ever but a cold while pregnant was certainly the pits! I have managed to survive. ;-) Thankful my awesome husband took good care of me. Also, it worked out that we received a humidifier as a baby gift and we set it up in our room while I was sick! :)

**I finished the treat boxes for the nurses, doctors, etc for the hospital. I will take some pictures and post soon. They came out great!

Here are a few pictures from these past two weeks including a few of the maternity pictures that Matt took.

35 weeks, 2 days after our most recent appointment. I now start going every week.

She included a beautiful scarf as well as a little treat for Baby Morgan!

Matt got a Baby book that it is Beatrix Potter so this Rabbit and book are the perfect addition to that!

Thanks, Erin!!

Monkeys And The Chair {A Book Review}

I recently received the book, Monkeys and the Chair, from BookSneeze to review.

The book summary on BookSneeze website states:

"Once in a lifetime, you may be fortunate enough to meet a child who will change your view of the world forever. Josiah was that kind of child. Born with severe cerebral palsy and numerous health challenges, he was blessed with an infectious joy and the gift of encouraging others. His faith in God and his passion to serve far surpassed his limited abilities. To know him was to be inspired. His life was cut short by his frailty, but his legacy remains"

When I first saw this quick summary, I was immediately drawn to this book. For one reason, it was about a child with the challenge of Cerebral Palsy and I have always had a soft spot for these types of challenges. Second, it was written by his mom and it was sure to be good!

I received the book as an e-book and that made it difficult for me to keep reading it because my attention to e-books is not good right now as a pregnant woman!! I have no idea why! It took me a while to read the book but not because I didn't enjoy it. The book was basically a collection of short stories about the family's life especially related to Josiah's involvement in their life.

I must be honest. I felt like the book was a little bit scattered and not as organized as I would have liked but all of the stories were interesting and were nice to follow along. I think if you enjoy reading short, real life stories, you would enjoy this book.

I received this book from BookSneeze for free in exchange for this review.

1,000 Days of Marriage! {September 26th, 2013}

On May 14th, 2012, we celebrated 500 days of marriage. And on September 26th, we celebrated 1,000 days of marriage!

We have officially reached the 4 digits for number of days married! :)

We celebrated by going to our OB appointment, doing a little errand running and then by eating an early dinner at Ruby Tuesday. We had coupons for free cheeseburgers so we got dinner completely for free!

Here's to the next 1,000 days!

Exactly 1,000 days before this date at this exact time, our wedding was starting.

Lovebirds...not the best pic but it will do. :)

Matt runs 4 miles!

One of Matt's goals on our 101 in 1001 list was to run a 5k. He has been running and training for a bit. We never talked about him running in a specific race but just that he would eventually run 3.1 miles. This past week, we went to the rail trail downtown and Matt was going to run and I was going to walk. Well, it started raining so I stayed in the car. Matt ended up running 4 miles!!! I was so proud of him!

Running hard!

"I DID IT!"

Sweaty yet accomplished!

Reward time!! SMOOTHIE!

Birmingham comes to SC!

Last Friday, I had a short day at work and at about 10:30 a.m., my friend Bonnie texted me to say that she and my friend Ashton were in Greenville for work and wanted to see if we could get together for lunch. I was able to run home and change clothes and head to meet them. It was such a fun time to catch up and visit with them. We ate at TableField's and the food was so good! I am so glad they called me and we got together.

34 Weeks {A Pregnancy Update}

Our little one is due 6 weeks from today!!

**On September 21st, we took an Infant CPR class. It was not an official class to become certified but rather just a class designed for friends and family to learn the basics. It was good for us both.

**During this two week period, I also reached the 25 letter mark to Baby. So awesome to me that our little one will have letters to read once he/she is old enough.

**On September 26th, We had our latest appointment. I was a little sad because I had gained a little more weight than I had expected. The doctor wasn't concerned because she said my overall weight gain is good and since I have had a little swelling, the gain could be from fluid. I was measuring on target and we heard a strong heartbeat which just never gets old! I will go back on 10/10 and I'll have my Group B strep test and then I'll start going weekly after that.

**Yesterday, September 30th, was my official last day of full time work. I will still continue to do PRN work for the rest of October when I'm called or until baby comes but after that no work until the first of the year. Then, I'll strictly be PRN.

**We have been behind on house type work for a little bit and it was out of control. We made a list and got it done. I would say that's the last big clean before baby. Now, I've established a daily/weekly/monthly list to help me in this department once I am settled in with our little one.

**Weird things be happenin'. I've have hand numbness and ear pain. From what I read, these are both associated with pregnancy and are nothing to be alarmed by. But they are so strange!

**We spent this past weekend in Knoxville with friends. More pictures to come of that!

32 weeks, 3 days

33 weeks, 1 day (day of baby shower at work)

33 weeks, 2 days

Took advantage of this recently!
