A couple of weeks ago, my Dad called and said that he had picked up a little Easter gift for Mason. It arrived last week and Mason LOVES it!

The Rainbow Egg by Linda K. Hendricks {A Book Review}

When I requested another book from BookLook Bloggers, they offered me the kindle version of The Rainbow Egg by Linda K. Hendricks. It's a quick children's book and it was AWESOME!

I loved the illustrations which were so bright and vivid. And most of all, I LOVE this book. The story is a sweet book about adoption shared through the story of a chicken who lives in the woods. 

I would recommend this to any family who wanted to share with their children about adoption. 

I cannot wait to read it to my son when he is able to understand it!

Tell How you picked your kids' names (or how you got yours)

I thought I would link up with Andrea (Momfessionals) for something a little fun today! Today, for Show & Tell Tuesdays they are talking about how we picked our kids' names. 

Here goes:

Long before Matt and I were together, I had chosen a name I would love for a girl (if I were to ever have one). My favorite girl name is Madeline Marie. Then, Matt and I got together and through the course of our dating, I told him about that name and he loved it too.

And well, we got married and then I became a Morgan, we realized that a future daughter would be named "Madeline Marie Morgan" with initials "MMM" which we actually loved/love. 

We also knew that if we had a son, we wanted his middle name to be Matthew after my husband, Matthew. So that meant a son's name would be _____ Matthew Morgan. So, we were faced with a decision: choose a first name that doesn't start with an "M" or choose one that started with "M" and just plan for all children to be named with initials "MMM". 

We chose the latter and are quite happy about it! We looked through boy names and chose about 10 that we liked and just discussed and narrowed down from there. We decided on Mason Matthew Morgan and we love love love it! After Mason was born on November 1st, 2013, apparently Mason was also a name that EVERYONE chose for their boys and it was one of the most popular boy names of 2013. Cracked us up because we didn't even consider that (nor do we really care about it) but it was just funny. 

Our plan for future Morgan children is this: 

We would love for all boys to have the middle name "Matthew" after their Dad. 

If we have a girl or girls, we will plan to use the name "Marie" as each girl's middle name as it is the name of my deceased aunt and I think it is so special. 

And so that's the story and just for fun, here is a picture of my sweet MMM. 

Savor by Shauna Niequist {A Book Review}

I have been looking forward to reading Savor: Living Abundantly Where You Are, As You Are by Shauna Niequist since I first heard she was writing it. I have heard her speak several times via video at MOPS events and I have read her book Bread and Wine and LOVED IT!

I want to start by saying that writing a review on a devotional that is meant to be read daily over the course of a year is a bit difficult. I also want to say that I am basing this off of the days I've read since receiving this book a couple of weeks ago as well as the various days throughout the book that I've skimmed. 

That being said, I really enjoyed/am enjoying this book. I love Shauna's writing style as it's easily relatable as well as witty. She writes from the depths of her soul and is just open and honest. 

I enjoyed the quick nature of each day's insert. However, I think this book may even be better just read as short stories than as a devotional just because it doesn't (in my opinion) have a full devotional nature to it. 

That is not to discredit the book because it is so good! I highly recommend this book to anyone who has enjoyed Shauna's writing in the past and/or is just looking for a fun/encouraging daily read.

The Morgan's Movements {Mid-April 2015}

Now that my many days of work have wound down, I've been loving having my time back with my boy!!

Snuggles after nap on a rainy day watching a little Curious George. 

We had a hot day (well, lots of them) and Mason wore a little summer outfit. He looked so cute! 

I turned on some music one morning and Mason ran up to me to dance and laid his head down on my shoulder to dance. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Then, I sat down and he kept his head down for more snuggles. THE BEST!

Enjoying the pretty view out of the front window. 

Reasons my kid was crying: I took away the large cup he had filled with toilet water! 

We went outside one afternoon and Mason found the pool. 1/4th of it was filled with about 1/8th of an inch of water and he was soaked in about 1 minute. BOYS!

We participate in child swap, like I've mentioned before, and it was our turn to have Skylar. She said "We are having a play party!" and she and Mason continued to do this!

Pardon the overload BUT he looks so big sitting on the bench and I couldn't help but keep snapping! 

Mason had his first popcorn! 

And we took a walk around Converse Heights. 

I was with the coolest kid in town! 

And that cool kid? He is learning to brush his teeth independently! 

Mason was fussing and I didn't know what had happened. I walked to the end of the couch and he was stuck on his box. HAHA!

And, here are all of the beautiful flowers blooming. I always miss them because I don't take pictures before a big rain comes and washes them out. I didn't miss it this year!

Last week, Mason and I spent a whole day at home in PJs and he wore his awesome Curious George PJs that I got for $1 for consignment and I documented the day well!!

We enjoyed a yummy dinner at Oliver Garden. It was so nice and relaxing.
