The Morgan's Movements {Week 9}

Another week has come and gone. Let's see what we had going on. I had to pick up something Sunday and Mason rode with me. He was a good riding buddying he looked so handsome I had to snap a picture. 

Sunday evening, Grandmom and Granddad came over for a visit and Maddox was trying to figure them out. :) 

  

We enjoyed breakfast for dinner with them, watched a tiny bit of the race on TV and just enjoyed some good company.

After Grandom and Granddad went home, we got the boys ready for bed and I headed to an Oscars party with a few other moms. It was a good night for sure!

Monday morning started with snuggles in bed. The best way it could have started!

After Matt headed to work, we just had some chill time and Mason played by himself for a while. I caught him reading it Maddox's crib. So sweet.

Little bit played some, too, after he got up from his morning nap.

  

While Maddox took his evening nap, Mason and I had a little dance party in the living room. We didn't let the fact that it wasn't dark yet deter our glow stick game!

Matt got home around 6:15 and he got some Mason time while I snuggled my little bit! 

  

Tuesday was speech day but Mason threw up shortly after breakfast so we didn't go. He didn't end up throwing up again but I didn't want to risk it. So, he got a bath and put on his new Paw Patrol shirt and we read and played.

When it was time to get Maddox up from his nap, Mason was so sweet and climbed in with him.

  

Then it was bath time for Maddox. I think one day they will take baths well together but right now it's more of a struggle for us so we just let them bathe separately.

I headed to work that afternoon and Matt sent me this picture. Apparently Maddox couldn't decide if he wanted to be awake or not. haha!

He perked up a bit with his bottle.

And then he got to playing and was as good as new!

AND then he blew out a diaper just for daddy!! haha!

(gah, look how cute he is!!)

Wednesday morning I did something Mason has been begging me to do for a while and I cleaned out the floor of their closet and let them play in there. He was so excited!!

  

  

That day was beautiful so we went outside later that morning for some digging.

This goof kept going under the table and bumping his head and laughing...(hmmm, maybe that's why he has a knot on his head that I didn't feel before???)

Before nap, Mason said, "I want to snuggle you all night." So I snuggled him a good long while. 

And he fixed my hair. :)

Maddox is teething like crazy. So his thumb is his friend.

  

We didn't make it to storytime that afternoon so Mason read to Maddox instead. :)

Thursday I watched the live stream of a funeral of a young mom who passed away from cancer. It was sobering for sure.

I also wrote Mason his 70th letter!! 

Goofy guy! One sock on and one sock off and now I STILL can't find that second sock!!!

When I headed to work, Matt and the boys went to Hatcher Garden. 

  

Mason made soup...

...and helped feed Maddox...

...and cut his veggies for him...

...and did some baby wearing...

  

HE WAS BUSY!!

Friday morning, Maddox had a bath and this cracked me up!!!

And then I surprised the boys with a quick library trip and a Mcdonald's Happy Meal.

Saturday morning, I headed to pick up GiGi from the airport and Mason watched me go! Matt hung with the boys and took them to bitty ball and then I came back with GiGi!

  

God Bless Our Baby by Hannah C. Hall {A Book Review}

Within the last year, we have read God Bless our Christmas and God Bless our Friends by Hannah C. Hall so it only seemed natural to read God Bless Our Baby. We added a new little one to our family nine months ago so we enjoy talking about new babies. 

Like the other books we have read from Hall, the pages are illustrated with animals and they are amazing! Each page has a different animal and Mason can name each one -- his favorite part. 

The story rhymes and that always keeps a child's attention. Each page shares a little tidbit about what life with a new baby is like and think that's huge in preparing older siblings for a new baby to enter the family. 

I also really like that one page shows bears of all kinds and says:

"Although we may not look the same, 

the love we share is strong!

From the start, God joined our hearts. 

Together, we belong."

I love that gives a nod to foster care/adoption. 

This is a great children's book and I plan to gift it for an upcoming baby shower. I think it will be a great addition to a family's book collection.

Dream With Me: Race, Love, and the Struggle We Must Win by John M. Perkins {A Book Review}

Given the politically charged times we are living in with so much being said about racial divide or just divide in general among various groups of people, Dream With Me by John M. Perkins drew me in immediately.

John M. Perkins, the author of the book, was a key figure in the civil rights movement and has lived much of his life in the southern part of the United States. He's an older gentleman who has been a part  ministry in Mississippi and California specifically as well as serving in various ministries in the United States and throughout the world. 

The first thing that I loved about this book is that you can feel Perkins' heart through this book. He is passionate about what he believes in, he is compassionate for those who are oppressed, and he is diligent about reaching out to those in need. 

In the book, Dream With Me, Perkins shares much about the life he has lived and the oppression he has been through in his own life. He writes about the ministry God gave to he and his family and how much God has done through them. I have read many books about reaching out to those in need but for me, it helped to read it from the mouth of the minority, if that makes sense. 

I think this book is an excellent read for anyone who is in ministry in an underprivileged area or those who would like to be. I also think this book is an excellent resource for opening our eyes to what people are going through who aren't in our same situation. 

Thank you, Mr. Perkins, for this book. I pray I can take to heart the things you shared and live more of them out.

Mason Says & Does {16}

Mason now says "Why again?" if we answer one of his "whys" and he isn't satisfied. :) 

When it's time for a meal, we always ask Mason if he wants water or milk. He thinks it is HILARIOUS to say "water and milk" and laughs hysterically. 

Mason goes running by when Matt is changing Maddox and says "I have to potty!!!" comes out after with pants around his ankles and says "I pooped and wiped myself!" **cue fear from all parental parties!!**

"Mason, do you think we should have another baby one day?"

"Uh huh. Three more babies. 2 girl babies yike you and one boy baby."

I asked Mason to sit up in his chair and he said, "Ma, I sitting applesauce (criss cross applesauce). I asked him who taught him. He said, "My teacher!" Not just learning about Jesus at church but also about proper sitting. :) 

Mason now has some invisible puppy dogs and I was asked to watch them during nap time. :) 

I asked Mason what he needed from the grocery store: peanut butter and jelly, eggs, and Anna...haha! Guess he wanted to play with his bud. 

I was dancing in the kitchen one day and I said, "I'm crazy!" And Mason said "You not crazy. Dad's crazy!" haha!! 

Mason was asking me about his belly and why he has one. He wouldn't take my answer so I asked him, "Why do you have a belly?" 

 "Cause I a boy!" :) 

Matt and I were discussing something and one of us said, "I call dibs." and Mason said,  "No, I call dibs." and he continued to call "dibs" on his pretend phone...haha!

I was making breakfast and I asked Mason if he would like his usual yogurt, chocolate chips and honey and he said "just chocolate chips" and I asked again, "Okay, so no honey?" He said, "and no yogurt either, ma!" haha!! Sweet boy was conning me into a full bowl of just chocolate chips. :)

During our school this past week, Mason showed me that he knows 3/5 letters in his name. YAY!

I was talking to him and I said, "I'm coming to you little bit." and he said, "No ma. I not little bit. I big bit."

Mason was supposed to be brushing his teeth and he got distracted by something Maddox was doing in another room. He walked into the other room and then went back to the bathroom and couldn't find his toothbrush. We looked all over the bathroom and walked into the other room and Maddox was chewing on it! haha!

Mason and I have been watching the mama giraffe on youtube waiting for her to deliver the baby and Mason called her "Sophie" like our toy giraffe.

We heard the newest Justin Timberlake's song came on during a dance party and Mason said, "That's my jam!" !!!

Maddox has been very interested in the bathroom lately and he tried to go in one morning and Mason said, "No Ma-mix. Dis not for babies. It's for big guys and adults!"
