February 15, 2020

Thankfully, on the night of 2/14 and morning of 2/15, we were able to get some sleep. It was fitful for both of us but it was something. When we woke up that morning, we were not sure if we'd be able to go home that day but we were praying for it. I had lost so much blood the day before and they rechecked my hemoglobin and it was low so we needed to wait to see what the doctor said.

The day before, Kirby, our nurse, gave us a little care package. A sweet book for the boys which we have yet to read because #tears.

We also got two of these. ❤️❤️

And these precious footprints. Yes, our boys were that small.

While we were waiting to find out plans, our boys were played well and still being well cared for. Never been more grateful for friends.

The sunrise at the hospital was the promise of a new day with new mercies for me.

When the doctor came in, she said we could go home! She told me to take iron, rest well and follow up with them in a few weeks. I had never been happier to be told to leave.

We immediately decided we needed donuts. I mean, it doesn't cure all but it sure helps.
We brought those home, took showers and then NAPPED!

Grandmom and Granddad came by to see Matt while I was still napping and he said it was just a sweet sweet visit for him. Shortly after that, he went to get Mason and Maddox.

I was so incredibly glad to have them home. We had dinner delivered from a friend. Our first of many, many meals over the coming weeks and then we got in bed and snuggled together.

At that was the start of the healing process. The ongoing healing process.
