We got to Louisiana late on January 3rd. The drive was HORRENDOUS...lots of slow downs, rain, etc. but we made it safely and I don't ever take that for granted.
That night, Maddox told me I could sleep with Larry Frankie Maddox. ❤️
Two sweet worn out little ones from a long day in the car. They are seriously the best car riders.
Ready for the day but still need a bit of rest, too. 😂
TV shows abound at PawPaw's house and they love it.
We gave PawPaw some of the homemade trash that we made. The boys needed to taste it again, too.
And Spike needed some as well. Crazy pup.
These boys were in complete lounge mode for most of the first day. Can't blame them, we were all still exhausted.
We went by Miss Eva's that afternoon.
This cake was there and it was amazing. Seriously, maybe the best cake I've ever tasted!
She and PawPaw had a few Christmas presents for the boys...some great clothes as well as a toy for each of them.
We enjoyed time inside and outside, ate dinner and just relaxed. It was a good afternoon.
That evening, Aunt Brandy had a few presents for them, too. These new hats are a favorite!

The next morning, the boys were up early as they typically are in Louisiana and we had a good breakfast.
It was FREEZING at home so Matt was bundled for church.
We took a trip to Tractor Supply. That place never gets old for these boys or their PawPaw. 😊
He also took us to Doughlicious Donuts and I opted for the King Cake donut...oh my word! It was fantastic!
Later that morning we headed to Uncle Jay and DeeDee's to visit, watch football and play. It was a good time for sure.

These snuggles are few and far between now (March 2020) so I'm glad I captured memories of them then.
After a relaxing morning, we headed to the park. It was mostly fun until ants got onto Mason's pants and shoes and we had to strip him at the park. Thankfully, PawPaw saved the day and he only got one bite!

This chair is the perfect perch for both of them and I'm glad I snapped these shots.

On our last morning, we went to Lee's Drive-In for lunch and it was delicious.
We also got milkshakes! Mason and I shared and GiGi and Maddox shared...well Maddox shared for a minute. Poor GiGi.
This was about the time Maddox took over. Soon after this, he removed her straw. 😂
A couple of games of checkers between these guys.
One last Miss Eva meal for us...yum!
And a bit more play time!
The next morning brought us sunshine for our drive to Montgomery. See you soon, Louisiana!
