The Morgan's Movements {Week 14}

You know what I love about life right now? Or maybe just life in general? The ordinary day to day tasks are still so much fun. Don't get me wrong, we have our moments of pure crazy but the sweet ones typically far outweigh those. Looking back to years ago and thinking about what my life would be like one day, I don't know that I could have ever dreamed of all of this. 

Let's recap week 14 of The Morgan's Movements! 

Sunday was a day of rest and recovery. We ended the previous week with Mason throwing up so he was very much in need of rest Sunday. 

  

  

Thankfully at some point on Sunday after many snuggles and shows, he perked up and started playing some. Pure silliness with Dad ensued. 

  

Matt headed outside to cut the grass and Mason wanted to be on the front porch so we tried to corral Maddox...hahaha! 

  

  

So, I put him in the pack and play so they could play outside without too much energy being exerted. 

  

Maddox also busted his lip that day but he was so happy you could hardly see evidence of it! 

  

Monday morning came and we were all feeling better and rested. Maddox once again decided to let us know that he can no longer be corralled and he climbed over this toy. 

  

Matt headed to work and Mason and I did some workbook activities. He loves these and I have to cut him off sometimes! 

It was a dreary day so I pulled out some board games that we have never played before and Mason and I had a blast! Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders. 

When Maddox woke up from his nap, they went for a boat ride. ;-)

I am loving seeing their relationship develop into a friendship and watching them playing together. It's such fun! 

  

I went through some of our stashed toys and pulled out a few that are now appropriate for Maddox and he loved them! Mason played with them, too, which was fun! 

  

  

Mason helped me by reading to Maddox while I cooked dinner. 

  

Tuesday morning came and Mason had an appointment bright and early! 

Maddox was hanging out well and by the time we left, his feet were BLACK from crawling all over the place! haha!

Tuesday lunch brought vomiting for Mason again. ;-/ and I snuggled him up as he told me, "I not need to rest" and was asleep 12 seconds later. 

  

We called the nurse and she recommended we come into the doctor. Thankfully all was well but bloodwork was drawn and that was UN FUN!! 

Popsicles helped but look at that face!! 

  

When we got home, Mason and I snuggled in the bed while Matt took Maddox to walk at Hatcher Garden. 

  

Wednesday was forecasted to be awful weather for us so we hunkered down at home for the day.  

Breakfast...always an adventure! 

  

The Morgan Family Band...we won't quit our day jobs. ;-)

That night, Matt stayed home from church and we had a family glow stick dance party...such fun! 

  

  

Thursday brought cookie baking with Big while Little napped. 

  

And practicing writing Mason's name! He told me after practicing these times, "I go play now!" 

  

Baths for little bit are his favorite and this day, he decided to brush his teeth at the same time. :) 

  

HATS! I made one for Mason out of construction paper and Maddox wore one of Mason's. Cutie pies! 

  

  

  

After those shenanigans, the boys took a nap and I headed to work. Matt got them up from nap and took them to Hatcher. 

And made them dinner....always a good plan ;-)

Matt and I spent the evenings this week after I got off from work catching up on our shows. We were so behind.

Friday started with a bagel. A HUGE blueberry bagel that Matt got for free from Panera. 

  

Mason also got to wear a super special shirt that day. This is Matt's shirt from when he was 4 years old. Vintage!!! 

  

We headed to the library for a quick morning visit to play and pick up some new books. 

  

  

We made some good choices and these boys read them that afternoon! 

Matt took the boys to CiCi's for a pizza dinner and then on Home Depot to walk around per Mason's request. They even got a popsicle treat! 

  

Saturday morning was an early morning for me to make a few pick ups locally and then we headed to Croft State Park for an egg hunt. After that, we got a Waffle House brunch and enjoyed some incredible time outside! 

  

  

  

  

Matt and I enjoyed a date night in with some yummy pizza and catching up on our shows. Matt even did a little cleaning out of some of his old toys to see what may be appropriate for Mason soon! 

It was a good week in spite of the sickness!

The Roller Derby {Take 2!}

You may remember that I joined some friends at the Roller Derby a couple of months ago. This time we decided to go as a family. 

Thanks to a friend helping us win tickets, we even got to go for free!! Thanks, Kris!! 

Matt got a BOGO buffet coupon for his birthday from Golden Corral so we went there! 

YUM!

We had the yummiest dinner and then headed to walk around a few stores before heading to Roller Derby.

Mason had fun with a couple of little boys while we waited for them to start. 

  

We had such a fun time! 

  

Until Mason threw up...thankfully our folding chair caught all of it. We cleaned him up, threw the chair away and headed home. 

He fell asleep on the way...

Maddox did, too!

We hoped that the throwing up from Mason was a fluke but he woke up a couple of hours later vomiting again...He and I spent the night on the couch. I love snuggling him but BLAH! 

The Roller Derby was fun. We were sad to leave at halftime but obviously, we had reason to! Matt enjoyed his first time watching and we decided maybe we'd try to go again just us or even just Matt. :) 

Itty Bitty Basketball {Mason}

These past six weeks, Mason participated in Itty Bitty Basketball at the local community center, CC Woodson. He knew very little about basketball before this and he has grown so much. They worked on dribbling, drills, shooting and passing/catching. 

It took him time to warm up each time and he is definitely still learning about staying in lines, etc., but by the end of the six weeks, he had learned so much and warmed up very easily by the last session. 

He got a certificate and a medal at the end. 

And a new t-shirt, too! 

Here are a few videos of him from the last day. There is also a video of him getting a basketball from us once he got home. On the way home he told Matt, "We don't have a big basketball at home, Dad." Little did he know that we had one for him waiting. :) 

Mason Says & Does {17}

Oh Man, this boy of ours has been saying and doing some fun stuff this last month! Fasten your seatbelts! 

I cleared out the floor of the boys' closet so they could play. Mason said, "It's cool in here. Look Maddox. It's cool in here." It's truly the little things...

Mason said, "We saw two tow trucks and two mail trucks. Then said, "NO WAY!" 

"I want to snuggle with you all night." -when avoiding nap time :) 

One day while we were playing, Mason fixed my hair, gave me new eyeballs, cleaned my teeth because he's a dentist. 

The landlord came by to say a termite inspector would be by for his typical visit.
Later on Mason tells me his bottom hurts. I asked if he would like me to look to see if something was wrong. "yes! To make sure I not have termites."

We had enough change to get three of one toy at CiCi's while GiGi was visiting and he got them and said, "one for you. one for Gigi. one for me."

After his first haircut in a long time, we left from the salon "Mom, I miss Miss Kari."

We were in the car and the sun was in Maddox's eyes. Without prompting, Mason reaches over and shields his eyes. 

After our little March snow..."Dad, I'm cold. I need some hot chocolate." 

Hears a baby crying in Cici's, "That baby not happy!" 

We were driving to the library, and Mason said, "We are lost! Get a map!" 

Instead of Ice Ice Baby, "Rice Rice Baby!" 

We went to  Sugar and Spice for dinner with GiGi and Mason ran up to the counter and said, "I'd like a cheeseburger please!" 

We have been working hard to teach Mason about things in our house being "ours" and not all his. My mom said told Mason that it was time for his bath. And he said, "No, GiGi, that's our bath tub." :) 

He heard Shake it off on the radio and said, "it's shake it off!!" and danced like crazy.

We dropped GiGi off at her house and within seconds, "I miss her."

Pronouncing yahoo as "yay-hoo".

While driving 12 hours home from Louisiana, "Dad are we in SC yet?" Not yet buddy, almost. "I wanna be there NOW!"

I'm on the bed feeding Maddox and Mason went into the living room. He yells back to me " I have a problem!" I tell him I can't come and a few minutes later he comes back into the room. "I have a problem. I fix my problem." I ask him what his problem was. He says, "I don't know!" :)

Mason was packing up things and he said, "I ready to go on our trip. In our car. I have ball, blanket, ball, beads. I ready. I pack everything I need!"

Mason said he wanted to see Anna and I told him we couldn't because her sister was sick. He said, "I want Emily to go to doctor." I asked what he thought the doctor would say. "He say Emily have a pold (cold)."

Mason got out a rocking toy that Kris and Anna sent for Maddox to borrow. I told him to be careful because he could fall off. He said, "I be careful (if) I fall off and I go lay on couch!" haha! 

We pulled up to playgroup and a mom was outside with her son. Mason said, "Yook! Baby! Is that his momma?" I said it was. "She's old like you!" It has begun...

"Its hard to wait, Mom." Yep, buddy, it sure is!

While helping Matt in the kitchen:
Mason: "Dad you need a little help because you still feel a little bad."
"Anything else you need help with?"
Matt: "No buddy."
Mason: "Okay, call me if you need me."

That's a wrap! Love this big boy of ours and I'm looking forward to writing down things both boys say soon!
