Holy Moly! This book was intense. I am not usually one to read suspense/thriller type books but for some reason, I couldn't resist this one. Here and Gone is way out of my comfort zone but man, it was a good book.
Audra is a mom of two who is driving across country with her children to escape her abusive husband. When she is nearing California where she plans to meet a friend to stay with her, she is pulled over by a police officer. He searches her car supposedly finds drugs in Audra's trunk.
She is shocked at this and begins to panic. She is then arrested and is scared of what will happen to her children when she is arrested. The police officer radios another police officer to assist with the kids and later when Audra is in questioning, the unthinkable happens...
I don't want to give too many of the details because you really need to read it to find out what happens. It is a book with some twists and turns and it was intense to say the least. As a mom it was a bit overwhelming for me at times so I could only read a few chapters at a time.
I am not a huge fan of curse words in books so I could have done a bit without some of those but overall, I didn't feel like it took away from the book for me.
I think I may have to read a few more thrillers in the days to come!
**I received this book free from Blogging for Books.**
