Overcome by Clayton King {A Book Review}

Since last July, Clayton King has been one of the main pastors at our church who preaches on Sundays. He has been there for many years but didn't preach as often until then. That being said, when I saw his book Overcome was releasing, I knew I wanted to check it out. His sermons are easy to follow and engaging so I was thinking his books would be as well.

Turns out I was right! Overcome is an incredible book and created to be interactive with a portion of each chapter dedicated to addressing the topic that the chapter presented.

The by line for this book is "replacing the lies that hold us down with the truths that set us free" and I truly felt like Clayton King presented that in this book. Each chapter presents a lie that we so often believe about our lives and then directly beneath that lie, the truth is given and a supporting scripture is also shared.

I really though that the book had a great flow to it and was well written. Many stories from Clayton King's life are shared as well as stories from those he has encountered in his ministry. I had a few eye opening moments as well as I read and recognized some lies that I've been believing in my own life. Just as God does in our lives, I feel like he used King to share those truths gently.

I highly recommend this book to both believers and non-believers, new christians and seasoned ones. Incredible incredible resource. Thanks, Clayton!

**I received this book for free but my opinions are my own.**
