Mason: Maddox, do you know how many cuts I got yesterday that didn't bleed?

Matt's mom sent a picture of her haircut. These were our responses: 

Matt: It's cute! 

Mason: I Like it!

Maddox: She looks like a grandma! 😂🤷‍♀️

"Today I'm going to do something new at rest time. I'm going to rest AND read." 

Mason: I wonder why balloons float to the ceiling. 

Maddox: because they have helium in them. #WellThen

"Mom, when you're all grown up, you might have hair on your neck, too." 

While outside..."I'm digging to find an ancient artifact." 

When he found a table at Sonic while they waited for food..."It's big enough for me to relax." 

Maddox has decided he wants to be called John when he gets older. "Like 100" 

"Mom, Mason and me think you are amazing at Legos!" #HighPraise ❤️❤️

Maddox was dressed quite uniquely for church one day and I asked him to dismantle some of the items but first I needed a picture. In the picture, he didn't smile AT ALL. "Mommmmmm, I'm George Washington. Remember George Washington never smiled?" 

When we surprised the boys with the beach trip, Maddox was really concerned we didn't pack everything. He kept asking "Did you pack our swimsuits?" "Did you pack sunscreen?" etc. 

"Are chicken nuggets just from baby chickens?" 

Maddox was playing with a wrapper from his water bottle. I told him that "I've probably played with hundreds of those in my lifetime." He responded "Yeah because you arrrrrrre pretty old." 😂

When leaving "I'll miss you beach!" 

The boys were playing legos and Mason wasn't giving Maddox something he wanted. Maddox came out of their room and said "Mason is officially not doing what we learned at church. He is not being kind!"

Back in November...Me: Mr. Dean's birthday is next week. What should we get him?

Maddox: Maybe an electric toothbrush?

Me: I was thinking more like food or drink??

Maddox: Wine?

Maddox's half birthday was approaching and we usually try to celebrate with a special meal or something. I asked Maddox what he wanted to eat. He said he only wanted dessert. I probed further thinking maybe he didn't care what we had for dinner as long as he picked dessert. Nope! He wanted dessert for dinner and dessert for dessert. 😂 We ended up settling on French toast! 

Matt and the boys did a Target pick up for an item for me for Christmas. When they got home, Maddox said "Well, they didn't have what we wanted to get you so we had to get you UNDERWEAR!!" 😂😂😂

"If I grow up before you're too old and diet and you still work at the hospital, I'm going to work at the hospital and I WILL GET TO WORK WITH YOU!" When I asked what job..."all of them!" 

Neither of the boys had mentioned having another baby andI had just thought of that one day. The next day, Maddox said "Maybe instead of twins we could just have one baby" 😭❤️

"Mom, do you think PawPaw really has legos and he's just hiding them from us?"

"I bet the other people my age at church are saying 'Where's Maddox? 'Where is that boy?'

One night during devotional we asked the question from our advent devotional: "Why is it important to know that Jesus was born into Abraham's family?" Maddox said "God!" #SundaySchoolAnswer

Matt let both boys drive the truck with him in the year. Maddox poked his head out "Hey, lady!" Matt prompted Mason to say "Can I have your number?" and unprompted, Maddox yells "Can I get you a sandwich?" 😂😂😂

We had a brief outside visit with Grandmom and Granddad just before Christmas. Maddox said "Air kisses! I'm giving Granddad a lot because I love him!" 😍

"Mmmmmm Dr. Pepper. One of my favorite sodas in the entire world. Too bad I've never tried it." 😂😂

Me: Y'all stop wearing clothes so I don't have to do anymore laundry!

Maddox: People would laugh at me if I was just in my underwear! 

We decided to have a family slumber party for NYE. Mason said "Let's have a breakdancing party!!" Maddox said "LETS GET LEGO SETS AND BUILD THEM!" (spoiler alert: we didn't do either 😂)

I asked Maddox if he wanted to play a game or something. He said "Nah, I'd rather not." 🤣

We took some pictures one morning with our cradle for Maxwell and Marcus so that we could use them for a fundraiser for Bridget's Cradles. While we were in the middle of it, Maddox said "I miss those little guys." 😭❤️❤️

Maddox Says & Does {26}

-While out with Matt and before leaving to come home..."Let's sit and chat for a while" 

-He was carrying on one day about "day care" and I could not figure out what he was talking about. He meant URGENT care. 😂

-Maddox: I wish we had gone to Happy Hollow more before the virus. I miss it because it has monkey bars and hiding spots. 

Mason: We didn't get to because Marcus and Maxwell died right before the virus and we weren't going out much." 

😭😭😭

-Mason came into the room with a light saber. Maddox said "Don't hurt Mama. I love her!" 

-"Man, these grits are good!" 

-Maddox is learning specific sounds and I asked him one he'd missed. He straight up said, "I Don't knooooowwwww." 

-Boys were playing trains one day. Maddox: No, don't put the mom. They don't like the mom. Me: Why don't they like the mom? Maddox: Just because. It's a different family. Not like ours.

-When we did The Morgan Hotel, Maddox said "How did you set this up already?!?" 😍

-While playing one day, Maddox said "I've got my old school cell phone in case someone needs to call me." 🤣

-One morning, I was in the bathroom when Maddox finished breakfast. I came out to find all of his dishes in the sink! First time unprompted. 🎉

-Maddox one morning during school: this part of my school is soooooo boring. 

-One evening I asked Maddox to finish his zucchini. "Listen, I haven't even start it yet." 😂

-Maddox asked to work on counting so I went to start giving him numbers to trace. He said "No start with 5 so I can blast off like a rocket!" 

-Maddox trying to choose underwear. "Eenie Meanie Money Mo. Catch a together by a green lantern." 😂

-Maddox said when he grows up he is going to change his name to John even though some people might still call him Maddox.

-At bedtime one night, Maddox said "well, I'm hungry for 6 things. Cheese, toast, bacon, water, banana and candy." 

-"Mom when you and Dad got married were fishing poles just a rope with a hook on the end? Way back then..." 😂

-He has been very bothered that his name can't start with a lowercase M instead of a capital M. 

-Maddox who wears glasses said "Let me look for it, I have better eyesight." 

-"Mom, did you know you can use three 1s and make an H? Two that are straight up and down and one left and right." 

-"Males are boys and females are girls." 

-When we put out Halloween/Fall decorations, Maddox called them falloween decorations. 

-"Have a nice fake-o-ween." 

-In the below picture..."I love you, Mason." 

-I asked Maddox for a hug and a kiss and as he walked out the door, he said, "Nope. that's not happening." 😂

Maddox Says & Does {25}

Matt told the boys I had to be in the bedroom away from them while awaiting test results.

Mason: We can have iPad time! We can make a mess! we can do whatever we want!

Maddox: I don't know about that, Mason

😂😂

I asked Maddox to rub my feet. He started and then said, "You have rough feet." 😑😑😑

I was doing journal questions with each of the boys individually. Maddox happened to hear Mason answer a question that he'd already answered and he answered it the same way. He came running in. "I knew you'd say that. Give me some knucks!" 😂

Maddox was supposed to be in the bathroom and he wasn't so I jokingly ran behind him and shooed him into the bathroom. He said, "I don't like when you follow me in here." I told him someone had to keep him in line. He said, "I keep myself in line." 🤣

Maddox told me he think he's getting some legos for his birthday. "A lego set! I'll build it before it's cake time!"

One night while giving kisses to Maddox, Matt's cheek brushed him and while rubbing, he said "Dad, your face is killing me."

Maddox just randomly said, "I want to marry a brown skinned lady because I want to have brown skinned kids when I grow up!" ❤️😭❤️😭

The first night we got out the new marshmallow guns, the boys were pumped. Maddox kept trying to do his and saying "Wait, I've gotta stop laughing!" 😂

Mason just rode to the end of the road and Maddox was concerned. I told him that it was fine. He said "ohhh he's half teenager so that's why he can ride down there without us."

Our friends have a turtle in their house right now.

Mason: maybe it escaped.

Maddox: turtles can't open doors. 😂

Maddox has started having rest time versus nap. He has to pick up toys when he's done. He told Matt "I can't clean up because I have a broken arm."

Maddox asked for Funyuns so I made those one of his birthday week treats. "I don't like them. I just keep asking you to buy them." At first I was annoyed then he said, "For you and Daddy and Mason." ❤️

On June 30th, we got Wendy's to-go for dinner because we were starting the month of July without eating out for the whole month. Maddox had eaten a good bit of his food and said he was full of his food. I then asked him: "What about the Frosty we are getting?" He said "Frosties aren't food!" 😂
Amen, I can relate to that!  

Mason made a blueberry cobbler and Maddox cut some strawberries to go on the side. Without prompting, Mason said, "Thanks for cutting up the strawberries, Maddox."

A bit later Maddox said, "Mase, thanks. Your blueberry cobbler is good!!" 

When we picked some of our carrot from our garden, Maddox said "We will have to clean those!" and he said, "I cannot believe we grew those in our front yard!" 

"I am going to tell you something about this afternoon. 

This afternoon..." 

I'm always thankful for a heads up about what's coming. 😂

While at Hatcher Garden one day, Maddox said, "Dad, do you know the so-called Sonic the Hedgehog?" 😂😂😂

Maddox asked Matt to hold hands so he could give Matt his super powers. Matt said he'd give him his powers as well. Maddox asked what Matt's powers were. Matt said "power of Dad love." Maddox said, "I feel it in my heart!"

"Let's do this thing!" 

Maddox asked Mason and I to get up from one of our couches by saying, "I mind you and Mason snuggling here." 

Well then. 😑

Maddox asked me what my superpower is. I told him I didn't know. He said, "Just pick one. I'll give you options."

From the other room, I randomly heard "Not on my watch!"

During board game time, "I'll beat your booties."
Competitive much?

We have a couple of places that socks belong. Maddox saw a pair of mine in another place. He said, "Mom this isn't where your socks belong." 😂 #Busted

"When we are teenagers, it will be the last time we are kids because after we are teenagers, we become grownups."

A friend shared a zebra cake roll with me and it was delicious so we got some to have at the house. We all shared one after dinner one night. Maddox said, "Now can I have a whole one?" 😂

"One of my favorite colors is cheese dip."

At 8:20 a.m. one morning "I'm ready for lunch!"

On that same day, "Why do ladies not have penises?" 😳
Thankfully, I got away with an easy answer and didn't have to have a full science lesson.

One afternoon, Maddox tooted and said "Me!! It was me because I always toot!"

One morning we had a light breakfast before going for out family walk/bike ride/run and Maddox was giving out granola bars. When we were eating, I noticed Matt was the only one with a different kind and I said something about it. VERY jokingly Maddox said, "Do YOU want that kind, Lady?" 😂😂😂

While we were on the above mentioned outing, Maddox said, "When we get home, let's have a real breakfast!" 😂

"These are called underpants because we wear them under our pants." #yep

Maddox Says and Does {24}

When trying to take a picture one day while playing, Maddox would NOT smile. "This is how pictures go." Well, okay then.

Morning conversation with Maddox: "Mason works for Skittles. I work for a company making fuel and my bosses make fuel pumps." He made a face while talking and I asked him about it. "That's the face my boss makes when I'm taking a break with them." 😂

When playing outside..."don't blow bubbles on our construction site. Give us our peace please."

I asked Maddox if he finished his water..."Of course, I did!"

On one of our family walks, we passed a house with a HUGE tree stump. Maddox said "They can't breathe because they cut down their tree." 😍

During quarantine one day, Maddox said' Can we go to Grandmom and Granddad's and eat dinner and roast marshmallows? We can sit outside and stand six feet apart." 😭

One day for lunch, I randomly had two green plates to pull out and I thought to myself "Awesome no arguing over plate color." Set the plates down on the table and Maddox said, "I wanted the top green plate not the bottom one." 😑😑😑

Maddox said he needed something soft to land on. I told him he could land on me. He said, "But you're not soft. You're squishy." 😂 

Maddox Says and Does {23}

"I bet the red pandas are adorable."

"I'm sad that the twins died. I was going to change their pee pee diapers and you and Dad could change the poop ones."

"Need me to do some brooming for you?"

I asked Maddox if he was still biting his nails. "Yeah, biting means we are cutting them ourselves with our mouths." Well, he's not wrong...

"I had an aardvark as a pet when I lived in China."

Maddox and I were having a sleepover and we were watching a show. He told me to turn the show off so we could go to bed. Two minutes later, he asked to be put into his bed because he was "already asleep." 😂

When we were outside, Maddox went into the house. When I checked on him. He said, "I need some place nice and quiet." ❤️

We've discussed with the boys that cardinals are a representation of a loved one who has passed away. The other day there was one in the yard. Mason said, "You're so cute Maxwell and Marcus!" and then Maddox said, "We hope you have fun with Jesus!" 😭😭😭

The daily journal question was "How Many kids will you have?"
"Four. Don't worry. I'll live by myself. I'll move and they will all have their own beds." ❤️😂

Maddox asked why we couldn't see our friends and I tried to explain. "Well, we can just stand seven feet apart!"

One morning, Maddox was drumming on my chest and said, "They suuuuuurrrrrrrreeeee are squishy!" 

Maddox ask to see some pictures of me as a little girl. My mom sent some and I showed them to Maddox. "Wow! I can hardly even believe it!"

"Anna, Emily, Mrs. Kris . Wait! I need four people because it's Mr. Paul , too!"

Matt took a quick shower one evening and Maddox said he needed to take a shower. "Dad, can I take a shower, too? Because I'm stiiiiiiinnnnnky!"

We were leaving homeschool PE, Maddox called out: "Have fun, Mase!!!"

Sansitizer for sanitizer. 😌

He said God named him Maddox and Joseph may have helped him.

Mason told Maddox he had a loose tooth. Maddox: (with a look of shock): Another one!?!

I was telling the boys I didn't feel that great. Maddox said, "Mom, God helps everything heal."

The boys were playing soccer. Mason kicks and Maddox grabs with his hands. Mason told him he couldn't do that. Maddox said, "But I'm the goalie!"

"Mom, I want to marry Anna."

While sitting on the back steps, "I'm gonna sit outside and look at nature while I drink my water."

Our neighbor brought a couple of packs of gum for the boys. Maddox's lasted about 1.6 minutes before he said, "I swallowed it."

Maddox asked Mason if he looked handsome.

He was wearing a shirt and asked what was on it. I answered various things including shooting stars. He said, "No, mom. Those are comets."

The boys were pretend trick or treating and Maddox said, "Trick or Treat. Can I get some candy, Mrs. Leslie?"

Maddox asked int he car one day to hear his song "This is how I fight my battles."

Maddox loves to build with blocks. One day he was working away and said, "this is a man that's perfectly cooooool."

I put on a vest and Maddox said "Cool jacket Dude!"

In his ice cream cone, he ate right down the side. "I ate a line!"

Maddox got in trouble for talking when I asked him not to. "I was talking to the Lord."

Maddox was asking about a friend today and with much sophistication, he said, " What are Isaac and Mrs. Meghan up to on this day?" ❤️

Maddox's dandelion wish: peanut butter and jelly on a spoon!

Mom: Maddox, will you open the closet and get me a small wash cloth?
Maddox: Of course I will. ❤️

We are trying out letting the boys have some reading time in their beds before sleeping. Maddox wasn't being quiet so I called him into our room to talk to him. I told him he needed to be quiet or he'd have to go to bed. He pauses and says "okay." then he looks at me for a minute and nonchalantly says "bye" and walks out. 😂

Maddox to Mom: You should sleep with your shirt off.
Mason: She can't because she only has a bra on.
Maddox: no, she has a shirt over her "braf"
Maddox lifts my shirt up and says "Ohhhh you should put another shirt on over your braf."

Matt said something and then Maddox repeated it. He said "I said what you said because we are both Germans." (He meant to say "Shermans" like from the movie Mr. Peabody and Sherman."

He was also talking about a pretend game he'd like to play and said, "When this virus (coronavirus) is over, I'll go over to Anna and Emily's house and play pretend TV." 

"What are you wearing, Jake from State Farm?" 😂

When we learned we'd need to do church online at home for the foreseeable future, Maddox said he would lead singing. He got the onto the rug and said "It's time for church. Our first song of the day is 'You're never gonna let me down.'"

Mom: I love you.
Maddox: I love you, too. Bye Bye. (I wasn't going anywhere and neither was he.)😂

Mom: At Chick-Fil-A  you can switch the toy for ice cream.
Maddox: Well, a better plan is to get both. ❤️

Maddox was told he couldn't come out of his room until he was done crying. He immediately stopped and said, "I paused it." Then he told us it was all fake. This kid. 

"This is my precious chair."

"I'm irritated."

I talked to a baby at the library. Maddox said, "She doesn't know what you are saying." 😂

"Mason, can I borrow the rest of your donut?" 😂

While out and about one day, Maddox put Zuma and Chase to sleep in his cupholder. When we got back to the car, I was whispering so I didn't wake them. He said, "It's okay Mom. When they ask to get up early, I ALWAYS ALWAYS let them get up early." This is his attempt to throw shade at Matt and me because we do no let him get up early even if he asks. What a stinker! 😂

"Was it made by Paleontologists?"

When Maddox potties, he likes to check to see if we have enough toilet paper. One day, "Yep! There's plenty in there."

While Matt and I were at the hospital and Maddox and Mason were with friends, Maddox apparently played Rock, Paper, Scissors with their dog. Maddox said he won because he got scissors and Ellie the dog got paper. 😂😂😂

On Odd Squad, the villains are Sally and Sally Sticky. Maddox was struggling to understand that they were both named Sally so he said they are Katie Grace Sticky and Sloane Sticky. (both are named of friends.)

Larry Frankie Maddox and Dino have the same name now because they are twins. Not baby twins just twins. But today, Larry Frankie Maddox had to go to the hospital because he had a fever. Dino is okay and didn't have a fever. He's safe. (February 19, 2020)

We were having some one on one time and I asked if he wanted breakfast. "NO! I want to watch the Star Wars we watched before bed!"

Above is John. A shepherd from Bethlehem. He is going to be a ghost for Halloween. He drove to the city Bethlehem in his carvan which is like a sled that drives on the road but it has wheels. 

Matt had a rough spot on his finger where it was dry. One night while reading, Maddox paused and kissed it. ❤️

Just asked Maddox if he could see something. "I surely can see it!" Then he said "I said 'surely.'"

At Monster Jam, Maddox cheered for Soldier Fortune. 

"My body's not working so you can eat my pork chop." 

When I was pregnant, Maddox said he thought the twins were boys and that I'd be the only girl "Unless the next twins are girls!" 😳

"Mommm we need to get allllll kinds of things for our babies!"

Maddox told Emily "I'm proud of you."

Maddox told me that one day he and Mason will watch me have an alligator ride. 🤷‍♀️

Maddox called Donkey Kong "the bo-rilla".

We went to McDonald's while at my Dad's house and when we got home, we realized there was only one toy. Maddox didn't want to go back so he says "We can share mine." ❤️

"Kern" for corn, "merning" for morning.

He also started telling me something one day and said, "I told myself..."

My mom told Maddox, "You are so smart, Maddox." and he said, "Yes! I am!" 😂

Maddox has started calling Emily "Em".

When at Chick-Fil-A, Maddox was using his heat seeking goggles to find Mrs. Kali. #PawPatrol

What makes you toot, Maddox? "Ummm, God."

Matt, his parents and the boys went out for Mexican food one night. Matt asked the boys if they wanted tacos. They both said yes. Maddox said "with cheese." Before he ordered, Matt asked if he wanted beef or chicken and Maddox said, "No just cheeeeeese." So he got a quesadilla and they called it a taco. #ParentLife

Our journal asked, "What a noise you don't like?" Maddox responded "Storm troopers shooting people." Well, okay then.

He ran into the room one morning. "MOOOOMMMM there's a bad guy in our room! It's TERRIBLE!" Thankfully, it was pretend. 😉

Mason was playing music. Maddox stops and sweetly says, "Great song, Mason. Great song!"

We went to Target one day recently and when I went to put my phone in my purse pocket it was full of Paw Patrol figures. I asked Maddox why. "They were just going to sleep, Mom." 😂

We tried to look at the fish one morning at Wal-Mart and all of the tanks were empty and cleaned out. Maddox said "Oh no! Who took them!?!"

The Q&A journal asked "If you could only have one thing in your room, what would it be?" Without hesitation, Maddox said "My bed!" #duh

When I saw the above spot on Maddox's leg, I asked if something had bitten him. As calmly as he could, he says "Noooo, it must have come from an alligator." 😂

At lunch one day: "Mason, when I was a little boy, I couldn't eat these chicken nuggets because I was on Whole30." 🤣

A radio guy said that Twitter was down for an hour the day before. Mason said that didn't matter because we didn't use Twitter. I told him that Matt did some and Maddox said, "Well, I use it A LOT!" 

"My bottom keeps going in a toot. Can you stop it?" 

"see my super pee!?!" 

^^"This is when I was a big brother and Daddy was...a different daddy." 😂

Question was asked in their church class what pet they would have if they could have any. Maddox told us, "I want a T-rex without sharp teeth. Flat teeth like ours." 

One day Maddox told us his heart was broken. Why? Because he couldn't figure out which book to read. 😑

I went in to get Maddox from nap and the door opened kind of hard and he said it scared him. I told him I didn't mean to scare him. He said, "Just give me one little kiss and I'll be fine." ❤️

"Frogs rhyme with logs!"

I told the boys that the Dollar Tree was jumping when we pulled up. Maddox said, "It's NOT a bunny, mom!"

Both boys were playing hospital and they had a good amount of patients. All of the patients just suddenly fell and busted their heads open.

I asked Maddox to go check to see if his shoes were in the shoe basket. "Of course they are! Riiiiiiight Here!" 😂

Maddox was singing on a stool and he stopped and just dropped the mic.

Matt was in the kitchen and he overhead Maddox say, "Was that her she-shed!?!" 😂

The daily journal we do with the boys asked this question: What is something you wish you could get rid of forever? Maddox: my big brother's t-ball trophy?" 😂

Another journal questions: Would you rather be a scientist or an artist? Maddox: a race car driver, a tree and a fireman. I asked again and he got so annoyed. 😂

I don't remember what we were making but when we finished, Maddox said, "It's perfect! It's beautiful!"

Mason was frustrating me big time one day. He walked away and I softly said, "Wooo" and exhaled. Maddox said "God Help Mom" 😂

Maddox asked me to swing him in the "baby" swing after he was in the big swing. I told him I wasn't going to because he's big now.

His response: "well, a couple of times that I have come with Daddy, he pushed me in them."

I asked him "Are you guilt tripping me?"

Maddox: "yep"

Maddox Says & Does {19}

I told Maddox I was going to a wedding shower. Then later on when went to get in the shower, he said, "Is that a wedding shower?" 😂

Later on he said, "are you going to take all of your clothes off for wedding shower?" It was at that point that we decided "pre-wedding celebration" was a better choice. 😂

To Mason: "Did you hear what my mom said? Stop doing that!" 

Matt asked Mason to see if he could get his own pajamas out of the closet. He said he couldn't reach. Matt told him to get a stool. He started trying and Maddox was cheering him on "you can reach! you can reach!" 

One afternoon while eating lunch, Maddox had eaten some of his carrots and then he stopped and held a chewed bolus of carrots in his mouth for over 15 minutes. 😂

Maddox was counting down to launch things: 3-5-4-3-2-1. ❤️

While visiting Grandmom and Granddad, Maddox looked at Granddad's arm and said "Can I touch that tree on your arm?" speaking of a vein he saw. 😂

Maddox was playing as a snake and I asked him to stand up so I could help get him dressed. He said, "Moooooommmm, snakes don't stand on two feet!"

While playing Guess Who, Maddox says, "Does your person have eyes?" 😂

We went to a nature center with friends. After five hours there, we were walking out and Maddox said, "That was fun." ❤️

Maddox Stopped Sucking His Thumb

Two weeks ago, Maddox went to the dentist and she just mentioned that it was time for us to address thumb sucking. We were a bit concerned about it because he only does it when he is sleeping and we didn't know how we could address it. She gave us a few options and we went on our way. We decided to wait until Mid-April since we were going out of town in early April. 

However, the day after the dentist, Maddox said something about stopping sucking his thumb and I told him that the dentist had said it was time to stop. He fussed a bit and then he NEVER PUT IT IN HIS MOUTH!!! That went on for over a week before we decided that it wasn't a fluke and he was officially done with it! 

Can you believe the will power of this 2 year old!?!

We are SO PROUD! After one week, Matt took the boys to Moe's for a celebratory meal. This picture is showing his willpower. 15 days into Whole30 and avoiding Moe's!

Maddox Says & Does {18}

Maddox was eating a boiled egg and I was eating a fried egg. He kept asking for my egg because he didn't have any. 😑

I told him he had egg and he said, "not white egg" because he only had yolk left.

Maddox is recently potty trained now and he has learned how to stopping peeing then start again. He said, "I turned it on and off!"

Seeing an airplane taxing after landing, "He's going back to his cage."

When he saw Matt in running shorts, "Why you wearing short sleeved pants?"

Maddox shared a pretzel with me and I told him thank you. He said "I'm being nice."

"Mom please you play with me?" ❤️

"I snuggle up to snuggle so I can suck this." 😂😑

While on a recent visit to CiCi's "Hi! Welcome to CiCi's!!" 

On that same outing, I told Maddox to eat his pasta and he said, "and pizza because I'm hangry!" 

One morning Maddox asked for the orange plate and I had already told him he could have it. I said "what did I say, buddy?" and he said "be patient." 😊 Guess he's heard me say that a few times!

"Do cows drink chocolate milk?" 

While at the park, a little girl walked up to Maddox and asks to get on this horse. He points to the other identical one that was open. She said no and he said, very calmly, "Well, I'm riding this one." 

Matt got everything set up to paint since Maddox had asked to do . Then he said "I don't want to paint." 😂😑

This isn't something Maddox said but rather something very sweet. Matt and the boys were at Chick-Fil-A and a friend came in. When they walked in, she said, "there is my best friend." and pointed to Maddox. ❤️

Since we were starting Whole30 and would be doing it on Matt's birthday, we went to eat at Golden Corral beforehand. While eating, Maddox said, "Ask me my favorite restaurant." So we did. Then he said, "What is this restaurant?" We told him Golden Corral. Then he said, "Golden Corral." 😂😂😂

I told Maddox to get all the way in his chair at the table and he said very politely, "I'm getting to it." 

Mason asked what was for dinner. Matt told him "chicken, fruit and vegetables." Maddox said " chicken fruit!?!?!" 

Maddox Says & Does {17}

When out looking for a snow sled, Maddox told Matt that McDonald's probably had them. 😂

Maddox gave Matt a high five and Matt asked for a kiss on the cheek. Maddox only heard "on the cheek" and "slapped" him. Oops!

When he gets hurt but doesn't necessarily want to let on, "I not crying."

While visiting Grandmom and Granddad, he went over to Granddad's computer and he said "whatchu watching?" ❤️

He started calling Mason "Mase".

While driving home for nap time, Maddox said "I"m not even sleepy!"

Maddox told us that Jesus was born in Bethlehem and that Mary and Joseph were there, too!

About PawPaw's dog, "Spike is outside doing his business."

While watching Curious George, "Where is Curious George's mom?" (He called the Man in the yellow hat Curious George's Dad.)

Maddox was telling Gigi about their new outside playhouse. "My Dad bought it."

I told Maddox that it wasn't long until rest time. He said, "Okay baby." then "okay baby doll."

I was making dinner one night and he was standing by the table as I put things down. I asked him to move because it wasn't time yet. He said, "But Mom, I'm just hanging out."

I asked the boys to clean up so they could watch something. Mason kinda fussed and I said "pick up or you're going to lose..." and I paused. Maddox said "a privilege". He's heard that a few times.

Maddox has begun closing things off. He blocks the way and says, "It's closed!"

I said something to Maddox about growing up and he said, "I'll get a mustache!" 😂

Maddox started talking to Mason and Mason said, "Maddox, I'm sleeping." Maddox said, "We already did that!"

Mason asked Matt and Maddox to come fight his animals. Matt said "We're lovers not fighters." Maddox quickly said, "I'm a fighter!" 😂

Mom: Let me know if you need to go potty.

Maddox: Okay, okay, okay!

Mason asked for a Chick-Fil-A shirt. Then he said, "Maybe I'll get one soon." ❤️

I was running to the grocery store and I asked if anyone needed anything,. Maddox said, "Yes. Vanilla ice cream." ❤️ You know I got that. 

"Mercy!" 

Maddox was walking around the house "happy and know it clap hands hooray!"

When we went to the park and were leaving after time with friends Maddox said "Good Good day!"

After listening to a song, Mason was saying "messiah". Maddox started saying "McDonald's-siah!" 😂

While nature walking, Maddox walks up to me with a yellow flower, "Momma dat for you!"

For Thanksgiving breakfast, we were naming various things we were thankful for. Maddox said he loved Granddad and then he stopped and said "I love both of them!" 

When watching a show one evening, Maddox looked over at Mason and noticed how his hands were sitting. He immediately moved his hands to the same spot. 

"Satellite" BIG WORD!!

One night at dinner, he asked Matt to take off his mustache. 😂

One night Maddox had a book in his bed and I took it out before sleep time and he began bawling crying. He laid down and said so sweetly, "Momma I kying (crying.)" Sweet boy. 

Maddox Says & Does {15}

I came out from the shower with crazy hair. I asked Mason and Maddox how I looked. Maddox looked at me with crazy eyes and said "Good"😂

Maddox has started asking for cuddles or snuggles and it sometimes comes out as "cuggles" 😍

"yeahhhh baby!" 😂

Mason was trying to get Maddox to say the AWANA Cubbies motto. Mason said, "Maddox, say Jesus loves me." Then Maddox said, "Jesus loves me and sent his Son." Not 100% but doggone at 2 years, 4 months, I'm impressed!!

**I've been slack on recording funny things both boys have been saying which is a bummer because they've been saying some funny things. I'm hoping next month is better!**

Maddox Says & Does {14}

"What are you thankful for Maddox?" (A question we ask each night before bed.)

"Thankful for Grandmom and Granddad's house." 😭😍😭😍

We got Mom's dog a toy at the pet store for her to bring home with her and it was a "drac-cola" Maddox found it one day while she was still visiting "Mmmm good coke!" 

--When he wakes up and at other random parts of the day, he will use a whisper voice to talk to us. It is the cutest.

--There is PLENTY of intonation in his voice and it's pretty unique.

--He repeats nearly anything we say and has so many words. I say often that I thought Mason talked plenty but Maddox talks even more than that!!

--For WEEKS, he would not sing "Happy Birthday" to me when we were practicing and talking about my birthday etc. He kept singing to friends, grandparents and would just giggle and smile at me when asked to sing to me BUT on the big day, he finally did!

--LOVES Anna and Emily and asks about them daily, even hourly! He loves their house and being able to play with them.

--He has eaten about 3 dozen mints in the last two weeks that GiGi has visited. She has spoiled him good. 😊

-I asked Maddox if he would like something to eat. He thought for a minute..."Ummmm, have a little Tampico?" 😂

-Timer in the kitchen was set for a non-cooking task and Maddox kept yelling "PIZZA!" every time it went off.

"Ladybugs!"

When our electricity went out, we brought some food to the neighbors since hers was still on. When they went to pick it up, Maddox was helping Matt and just grabbed himself a fruit cup out of the fridge that wasn't ours. 😂

I asked Maddox if he wanted to read and he said "sure" so nonchalantly. :)

Before bed, I asked what he was thankful for "Momma, Daddy and Mason."

I tried to give him a hug before bed and he said "too tired".
As I walked out of the room he called me back for a hug. :)

While in a public restroom recently, Maddox reached down, rubbed his finger on the floor and licked it before I could stop him. 😳😳😳

At LEGO block party, Maddox put a LEGO man in timeout. I asked why and he said the man hit. I told him to tell him to be kind. He turns and says "Be Kind. Be Kind." 😍

Mason showed his coloring sheet to Maddox and Maddox said, "Awesome!"

We were listening to some songs from her church and Maddox was yelling "Ecclesiastes!"

Maddox Says & Does {11}

Maddox pulled Mason's hair and went to time out. He was told he was done but he laid in his bed for 20 minutes. Mason just went outside of the crib and Maddox was inside and they were playing. *Kids are weird.*

Maddox climbed into Mason's bed, moved all of the animals and snuggled in saying "night night". 😍

Maddox walked over two Mason with a toy and said, "Sison, open?" I teared up. SO big.

July 16th, Maddox stuck popcorn up his nose. 😳

Instead of calling my stepdad Rarry (for Jerry) , Maddox is currently saying "Rarray!" 😂

At Pump-It-Up, when we slid, Maddox said "one more time!?" 😭

Maddox Says & Does {10}

Pointing at various things "right dere"

We drove past a park on our way home from our road trip. It was pouring down rain when we passed but Maddox started clapping and yelling "YAY!" It was so sad because he was so happy and we obviously weren't stopping. We thought he would freak out but he said, "okay" 😂

When I ask for a kiss, he declines and says "hot Hot." Where do they come up with these things!?!

At story time one day, a buddy walked in and Maddox yelled "Zander" (his name) across the room!

"Play Place"

I was reading a story before bed and Maddox ran into the other room and grabbed Aladdin blanket (A special family blanket) and covered everyone up. 😍

"Would you like some water?"
"Mmmmmmmmmmilk!!" 

We have containers of rice and beans for the boys to play with and Maddox saw them one day and exclaimed "ICE AND BEE!!!" You know his Daddy pulled them out for him to play with. :)

Mason and Maddox had a zoo trip going on in the house. Mason said there was a lion in Maddox's bed asleep and asked if Maddox wanted to see. Maddox backed out of the room saying "Uh uh!"

Mason called out from his bed one morning saying he needed to potty. Maddox follows immediately after yelling "POTTY!!" yeah, he's still in diapers. 😂

I do believe Maddox is having a little language explosion. Lots of huffing and trying to figure out his words is happening. He's recognizing tons but when they try to come out, well, it's hard!! :)

Maddox Says & Does {8}

One night at dinner, I started singing the song "I'm Still Standing" and Mason said, "Yeah, yeah, yeah!"

Well, I don't think I did a very good job keeping up with these this month. Maddox has had a bit of a rough month behaviorally as well as teeth-related so that's been rough. He has been glued to Momma and I've loved that but it's also be hard. 

He is also saying lots of single words and putting more two word utterances together. He's got a little lisp that while I think it a bit cute, I hope ends soon! 

Maddox Says & Does {7}

Maddox asked for more but he didn't finish his breakfast so I explained it to him that he could not have more yet. I don't think he fully understood but he said, "Yes ma'am!"

He picked up his stuffed animal buddy and was chewing on his ear. We asked him if he tasted good. He shook his head no and yelled "YUCK!"

Maddox said "show" and pointed at the TV and said, "paw patrol!" haha! Funniest thing is that he watches for 7 seconds.

Mason fell and hurt himself. Maddox ran to hug him! Mason then told me he didn't need me because Maddox had helped. 😊

While out eating dinner, Maddox reached over when no one was paying attention, grabbed a roll and went to TOWN!
