The Morgan Family Road Trip: DONUTS!

It's no secret that we love donuts so on this trip, we certainly tried our fair share of them!

Our first stop was Donut World in Greensboro, NC. This was our breakfast stop so we got several.

Maple bar, apple fritter, chocolate covered buttermilk bar, chocolate covered, maple glazed. I think that was are. We all loved the fritter and the maple bar was one of the best we've had!

Second stop was in Richmond at The Treat Shop RVA. We tried a maple bacon and a cinnamon bun. We liked them both but decided the cinnamon bun one would have been over the top if it was warm!

The next morning, we stopped at two shops leaving Fredericksburg.

Paul's Bakery is where we picked up an old-fashioned and a maple nut. The maple nut was incredible!!

The second Fredericksburg stop was Sugar Shack. A black & white, a sea salt caramel and a dirt donut. The sea salt caramel was the favorite of these three!

At Reading Terminal Market, we got a dozen from Beiler's. The favorite of these were the blueberry fritter and the salted caramel. The others were still delicious as well!

Shady Maple provided another dozen and the favorites are the custard filled long johns as well as the other filled ones, Strawberry cream and raspberry cream. Their donuts were the top of the trip for sure!

Once we were back in the upstate, we stopped at Sunny's our favorite! We love all of theirs and on this day we chose apple fritter, peach fritter, chocolate chip bar, buttermilk bar, blueberry buttermilk bar. You can't go wrong there!
