I originally chose to read/review Her Sister's Shoes by Ashley Farley because it's set in the Lowcountry of South Carolina (the state I live in) and it did not disappoint in turning out to be a wonderful book.
The story is of the lives of three sisters, Jacqueline, Sam, and Faith who are all battling different things in their lives including impending divorce, a hurt child and an abusive marriage. All of these struggles are paralleling with trying to figure out what's going on with their mom, Lovie, who is having some apparent memory and self-care issues.
I love the rawness and realness of the storyline sharing about how struggles can really occur in families. I also really enjoyed the storyline about Lovie. It is never shared in the book whether she has Alzheimer's or not but I enjoyed the whole aspect of that because of my career as a Geriatric Speech Language Pathologist.
The way the story culminated was perfect, in my opinion, and I loved the camaraderie that was shown through it.
I highly recommend this book!
