A friend from our MOPS group was giving away a smoker and I asked if I could have it. Matt has been wanting one for about two years and although they aren't too terribly expensive, purchasing one just hasn't been a priority. I went to pick it up without telling him and when he got home, Mason and I surprised him! He was so shocked and excited!
After we let him scope it out a bit, we took him to the grocery story to buy some meat to smoke. ;)
He picked out a pork roast/boston butt and he was thrilled to get in on the smoker on Saturday morning!
It turned out so well! We ate some of it by itself on Saturday evening and then used some for Shepherd's pie on Sunday night.
