Early Father's Day Weekend/Maddox's Scavenger Hunt

In Mid-June we celebrated Father's Day a bit early. I was scheduled to be on call of Father's Day and we didn't want to risk me being called in and it impacting our day! It was a good choice.

We started the day with a taste test! This one was for Wal-mart mini pies and cakes and it was a winner!

We all 100% thought this amount was great...until we started eating and then we realized our eyes had been bigger than our stomachs! 😂

The winners were...
Leslie: Sweet Potato and pecan
Matt: sweet potato and pecan with lemon and cherry as runners-up
Mason: peach
Maddox: pumpkin

And truth be told, they were all delicious!

Next up, we had some gifts!

Tea, sweatbands and a few other things!

❤️

About mid-Saturday morning we started Maddox's scavenger hunt. This was a gift sent from Uncle Ben and Aunt Anne and because the mail is insane right now, it took 10 days to arrive! Matt didn't mind sharing the day with Maddox. ❤️
There were various clues for things for us to do in and around the house. Maddox loved it and we all got to participate. Mason had a rough go of it for a minute (brotherly jealousy) but then he got it together and we all had fun!
I won't go through each clue but some are self-explanatory. We had to send the pictures to Ben and Anne to get the go-ahead for the next one. It was a GREAT gift!

At the end, we found out we all got to get ice cream!!! Now that was a WIN!!!

The rest of the day was all about Dad! Costumes are Maddox's way of showing love. ❤️

That afternoon after rest time, we went out for an early dinner. We picked a newer local place called Burgers and Bakery. The timing was great because nothing was busy and the weather was beautiful that weekend so we got to sit outside comfortably!
The food and time together were top-notch!

At some point in the weekend, I also made a BLT board and it was all so yummy with tons of leftovers. Everyone in our family loves a BLT!

We celebrated Matt well and we believe he felt the love. ❤️
