Staycation 2020 {Part 1}

In August, Matt decided to take a week off. We scheduled it around the twins' due date. That date was truly just the 40 week mark because they would have come before that regardless but we knew it would feel like the end of a season and we wanted to be together for it.

That Friday, July 31st, Matt got off at noon and we got the party started! He brought home Bojangles for lunch. YUM!

One of the biggest things we wanted to do during Staycation was a Little Debbie Taste Test! We've done several taste tests this year and this was a BIG one!
Day one was GOOD!

After that, we settled in for a movie. The Sword and The Stone was the pick. After that we watched shows and read and just relaxed.

On Saturday, August 1st, the LEGOS came out right away! Maddox is always glad for LEGO time.

I had a quick appointment but Matt took the boys to pick up Mason's kit for the kid's club he joined. They got ice cream at the pick up!

Speaking of ice cream, since the boys got some, we definitely had some, too! I had picked up Blackberry Cobbler and Milk & Cookies from Blue Bell. Both were good but Blackberry Cobbler was the favorite.

We did a bit of thrift store shopping. Well, I did while the boys hung in the car. That afternoon, it was my turn for movie time while Matt rested/napped. The boys and I watched Up! and later we all watched Like Mike.

Another Little Debbie taste test went down and goodness, they are just GOOD!

We went on a family walk/bike ride, ate burgers and Doritos for dinner and then stayed up late to look for fireflies!

We were successful! Fireflies and spiders were seen and even bats!

On Sunday, we slept in a bit and then had s'mores cookie cake for breakfast. Why not?

Another Little Debbie Taste Test round happened that afternoon. Yes, it was a lot of sugar. #staycation

We attended church online and watched both Incredibles and Incredibles 2 with popcorn! Matt took the boys to run an errand and while they were gone I hurried to do this!

We had hoped to stay in a real hotel and let the boys experience room service but it wasn't possible with COVID so we Brought the hotel to us! They were shocked and unknowingly, Matt and I gave ourselves a gift, too. Alone time!

I snuck pictures and video through the door while they realized what was happening.

From Matt's perspective outside...

These two were SO excited and so grateful. It was truly special.

Their signatures...❤️ And one of the room service attendants. 😍

We let them watch "TV" on the iPad and have snacks and just be cozy.

There was a "pool", too. 😂

It wore them totally out!

The first part of Staycation was definitely good!
