Cupcakes {Nashville 2018}

A couple of months ago, Anne made a cake and I showed it to Mason and he started asking to make cake with his Aunt Anne when we visited. It became a bit of a joke as he changed the type of cake etc numerous times. Well, he finally settled on strawberry and he wanted to decorate them with her. That week, he asked if it could be cupcakes versus cake so we could all decorate them. Aunt Anne made it happen and Matt captured it in pictures.

Maddox did something strange and I obviously made a face about it. 😂

So happy.

Mason's final product...

Maddox's final product...

Ben and Anne took a turn, too.

Ben's...

Matt's...

Mine...

It was a doggone good idea. Aunt Anne made the Morgan boys VERY happy!

Favorite Children's Books {14}

We had several more favorites from this month but I didn't get them into the post in time so I'll share those later.

This book, The Day War Came, was 😭😭😭. Very eye opening for all of us and inspiring us to love others for all walks of life. We never know what someone's story is.

This book was about lying and it is a great tool for teaching young children. Mason was asking many questions after this.

Whoa...what imagination this guy has! Mason and Maddox both loved this one!

Another one from the same author...

Maddox is VERY into diggers and machinery so he loved this one. A great Christmas book! It also encouraged us to check out the others in this series of books.

Who is Pirate Frank? That's the surprise!

The Click, Clack books and any book by Doreen Cronin are loved in our home. This one was no different. What happens when the animals go to school?

These 5-minute story books continue to draw us in. The plus of this one is that the stories are actually 5 minutes long whereas other ones are typically a bit longer.

We've read the first two books in this series so this was eagerly anticipated for us. I loved this one the most, I think, as characters became friends instead of enemies.

This book is just plain hilarious. Everywhere they went on this day, they received a dinosaur. How did they handle it?

Another 😭😭😭 book.
Get the tissues before reading this book. This is such a precious book. The little boy talks about balloons and how each balloon holds a memory. He talks of his parents, his and his grandpas’s. Grandpa has the most because he been around for so long. Then something strange happens and Grandpa starts to lose his balloons and he can’t recall the stories he’s always told. An incredible story of love for family in hard situations.

Beautifully illustrated and great for learning these verses in Ecclesiastes.

Maddox Says & Does {15}

I came out from the shower with crazy hair. I asked Mason and Maddox how I looked. Maddox looked at me with crazy eyes and said "Good"😂

Maddox has started asking for cuddles or snuggles and it sometimes comes out as "cuggles" 😍

"yeahhhh baby!" 😂

Mason was trying to get Maddox to say the AWANA Cubbies motto. Mason said, "Maddox, say Jesus loves me." Then Maddox said, "Jesus loves me and sent his Son." Not 100% but doggone at 2 years, 4 months, I'm impressed!!

**I've been slack on recording funny things both boys have been saying which is a bummer because they've been saying some funny things. I'm hoping next month is better!**

Mason Says & Does {34}

Matt went to wake up Maddox from nap and Mason said, "Dad, dad, dad. Maddox may still be really sleepy. He's had a rough day. can you just let him sleep a little longer so I can watch some more of this show?" 😂

While at Pump-It-Up: Dad can you set a five minute timer so we can leave? I'm hungry!

Preparing Matt for Pump-It-Up: Dad, there are three rules. Don't hurt your ankle, because you may break it. I don't remember the other two.

Last week, Mason drew this picture of our family. He said Matt was the one smiling and the rest of us were eating ice cream. :)

During birthday celebrations, Mason asked that their be candles for everyone and for everyone to be sung to. He loves his people well.

Neewollah 2018

We attended Neewollah at Croft State Park this past Saturday and we all had a blast! Our boys got another chance to wear their costumes. Woohoo! I'll share some more pictures in another post that Matt took. These are from my phone.

He's ready!

The boys immediately went to the bounce house and slide and were ready to go! Look at that sweetness!

There was the bounce house and slide as well as a couple of small campfires, a magician, and some snacks. We met our friends, The Hammitts and The Rasnakes, and had a great time!

Daddy and his boy.

These goofs were sharing popcorn.

Cinderella the Witch???

There was a costume contest. None of our kids won but our friends' dog did. :)

After the playing and contests, we headed into the campsite area to Trick or Treat. It was so great! We couldn't have asked for better weather. The kids ended up loaded with candy!

The decorations throughout the camping area were so fun! The kids loved that.

I love us.

It was a good good time!

MASON IS FIVE!!!! {November 1st, 2018}

I'll be back next week with a post with more pictures and more stats about our big guy! For now, enjoy these pictures from a recent  Hatcher Garden visit!
